50's Prime Time Cafe

That is so sad! :sad2: I am sorry that you did not get the full effect. The wait staff is what makes it fun! We liked the food, but without the decor and staff we would not go back (we would not go there to simply eat in other words). We were blessed both times with wonderful servers that truly got into their character. That makes it fun! :goodvibes Maybe you could give it a try one more time :confused3 because "when its good... its really good"!

That is exactly how I feel too. The service and decor make the experience.

We had Cousin Mikey and he was beyond fantastic. I will go again sometime, for him and for him alone.

(I also won't get the steak or the fried herb cheese again, but I am sure that there's something else that I'd enjoy on the menu.)

My family just ate here on Nov 12. We usually like going here but I have to say I won't go back again. The portions were VERY small. The chicken on my ceasar salad was SO dry I almost choked on it and the staff really seams like they hate being there. I have to say we have been there 3 times in the last year and we have yet to get any real Prime Time interaction with any of the wait staff.

we were there on Nov 13th and we must have had the same waitress- I already posted that our steaks were so tough we couldn't eat it. Gross.
I noticed the portions have been cut back. Not impressed and I've been there several times. I'll skip it next time.

I ate lunch at 50s Prime Time last week.. and it was wonderful! I had the chicken pot pie. It was SO good. The serving was very generous! So delicious. My server was my brother Robert.... who told me mama grounded him because he put his elbows on the table and wore his hat in the house. After I paid the bill, he told me bathtime was at 7pm and to make sure I wasn't late. He was fun, but not really over the top. I had such a good time!

We ate there on 10/27 and loved it! We didn't have an ADR, so we showed up at 11:30am and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for lunch.

I liked the portions - I am tired of having huge portioned meals when we eat out. It was perfect sized for myself, and my DS loved the green beans. They were very accommodating to a family with a really hungry toddler, and our waitress was great. Her name was Monica. DH and I had the meatloaf, and my parents each had the chicken pot pie.

DH and I went in Feb 2001 and we were not impressed - this trip made us rethink our opinions.

I don't mind smaller portions if I don't pay alot for the food but at their prices I expect more. Out of all the Disney restraunts I have been too, their portions are the smallest for the price.

We missed them on our last visit so hopefully will catch them in early Feb when they reopen. I love the smaller portions. I have no intention of sharing my meal and the more normal portions fit me perfectly, with room for desert! I don't find any place in WDW that serve large portions. I hope that the 50s PT gets it spark back as it's usually a great place for some down home cooking.

I have been anxious to try this restaurant. I hope the service is fab when we go next year. I've read lots of nice and fun things about it. If DH agrees, we'll try it.

Just back from the world and we ate at 50's on Sunday night. The only thing that my family liked about it was the dessert. This was our first time eating here. We will not be back. Our waiter had the personality of a coat rack.
It took forever to get him to bring us the check. The service was not good. I saw other people laughing and having a great time. I know it was just our server who ruined the experience for us.

That was our experience when we were there in February.

We had eaten there previously and had an older gentleman who was just fabulous. My dd still talks about him 4 years later; we had someone take his picture with us and that pic is on our Disney scrapbook.

So we were really looking forward to a return visit. The food was good but what makes this restaurant work is the experience with the wait staff. Our waitress had all the personality of a slug. She was borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring and everyone in her section was talking about it, esp bec we could see people in other sections having a great time. My dd was really disappointed (and so were we).

My family and I have been there for lunch two times and each time our servers were very funny, so they made sure we knew the rules of the restaurant and that we finished everything on our plates.
