Who has eaten here for supper? How was it?

If we don't eat here, we will likely just bring a bagged dinner. Where would we be able to sit down and eat it?

Better to post this on the Restaurant Board. You will get lots of opinions. Me? I really enjoy it. Great fried chicken. And every entree is under $20. Not bad for WDW.

I have always found 50s PTC to be good, not exceptional though. Brown Derby is your best option at DHS, in my opinion. I also thought Sci-Fi was okay, but it gets mixed reviews. I will never go to Mama Melrose again. The food there was awful.

I would go with Sci-Fi Dine-In, most say it's great.

50s Prime Time is my biggest WDW disappointment. Which is not bad I guess, it was just a meh experience but when compared to all the other amazing experiences it stood out as the "bad" one. Especially since I really wanted to go to Sci-Fi but at last minute switched it.

Ate there last year - nothing great - EXCEPT fore the milkshakes - they were fantastic ( i had red velvet)

I would go with Sci Fi Dine In

We love 50's, it's a must do for us. The food is ok, not bad..not California Grill...but decent and we love the atmosphere. I'm sure you could sit and eat at the tables at the Backlot Express, there are a ton (well there were last time I was there anyway). I am not a fan of Sci-fi (all of there food is seasoned which I can't eat so I'm not the best judge), Brown Derby is medicore.

For TS we are fans of the Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant AND Lounge.
For CS we usually grab something at the Studio Catering Co and High Octane Refreshments or ABC Commissary.

We've eaten at 50's PT a few times. The food is always good. We've had some good servers some not so great servers. It's definitely worth going to.

Our fave is BD, but we were very pleasantly surprised with 50sPT, ditto on the chicken. And since you said "supper," I'll also mention they have real sweet tea :)

I love it. Pretty good food and a fun and fantastic atmosphere. If you didn't want to eat there, I'd recommend Sci Fi. That is possibly the best themed restaurant in WDW, at least it is in my opinion. Honestly, though, as bad as DHS is for counter service, they are pretty great for table service meals. Sci Fi, 50's Prime Time, Mama's, and Brown Derby are all good choices.

We love 50's PTC I love the fried chicken. DH loves the pot roast.
There are no "picnic areas" set aside for folks who bring food in. Tables are for those folks purchasing QS meals.

It's good comfort food in a well themed fun restaurant.

We often pack lunch for the parks (then do TS for dinner). For DHS there is some outdoor seating in front of Backlot Express that sits low by the Indiana Jones theater that is rarely being used especially later in the day, there are lots of umbrella tables around Lake Echo just in front of 50's Prime and tables across from the Studio Grill by the bathrooms often have picnic eaters there.

It's one of those places that's just not for everyone. The theming is cool, but if you and your family aren't ready to be part of the scene, I'd suggest passing. You could be punished if you don't finish your veggies, asked to wash dishes, or any number of weird things depending on how into their role your server is. If you go, just be ready to roll with it, if you can, it's a blast, if you think you'll be uncomfortable then pass. Sci-fi is cool looking, but the food is just ok, you're really going for the novelty of it. The night sky with glowing stars and moon is really cool. And if you have kids, they'll likely love sitting in the classic cars!
