OMG-Just reading through this thread is another example on how some on the DIS are so FREAKING UPTIGHT!

Let it go...if you don't want people to make jokes, go to a quiet restaurant, if you are offended, don't go back.

But don't ruin it for the rest of the tourists who like the waiters making jokes with them.

OP-If this is all you have to worry about, good for you, it doesn't sound like you or your children were really offended, but that you "could" be if you were in a sensitive position.

Ok, this post made me laugh. Really!

I do love this restaurant and will continue to go back, even if when we go in December, a waiter makes a comment like this (although, we'll probably be at a 2-top, so no one will be "missing"). I think I have a very good sense of humor, but I probably did come across as uptight in my posts, even though I wasn't the OP.

It's just one of those parent things--you make my daughter feel bad, I have to punch you now.

OP, you said that your husband was unable to join you because he was working . . . . Were you staying on-site? Was your husband's name on the reservation for the room or the restaurant?

I was thinking the same thing. This is such a typical example of, 'I wasn't offended, but I'm going to make a big deal out of it & act like I could have been offended.' But, you weren't.

The easily offended should probably just find a dining location that is not meant to be interactive. I swear, people get upset about the smallest things.

Next we're going to hear about a kid that was force fed greens and it made them upset and sad. At least one person in the party should know what the restaurant is all about before booking it.

I'm planning on going here during my Spring Break trip and I'm not telling my travel party about it at all, but they all understand humor.

I also don't consider her situation a "small thing". I also understand humor.

What kills me on this thread is that the people who are screaming, "LIGHTEN UP!!" sound like they are the most uptight people on the board. Why do you care what offends people? Why do you care what may hurt someone's feelings? All you people do is come on this thread and spout your holier than thou BS.

I have NEVER heard about anyone at the 50's PTC making a comment about a male figure not being in their group before this thread--I don't think people know that that's what will be talked about if they go to this restaurant. Being made to stand in the corner, having the waiter/waitress berate you if you don't eat your vegetables.......yes. So, give it up.

I can't wait to eat at 50's PTC when we go back this December....but everyone on here who is yelling at others for maybe being a little offended, well...maybe YOU need to relax!
