I am interested in eating lunch at 50's and dinner at Whispering Canyon since we will be staying at the WL in Sept. I have never eaten at either of these. I have heard that they pick on people at these places and my husband does NOT like to be singled out in a crowd. Will they leave you alone or is it best not to go to these two if you don't want to participate?

Also - What is a DH and DS?

If he doesn't like being singled out, these may not be the places for you. You could try asking the host to seat you where you won't be singled out, but that could actually be asking for trouble! ;)

DH - Dear Husband (or dumb husband, depending on your mood) ;)
DS - Dear Son
DW - Dear Wife
etc, etc. :)

I would say do not go if it is going to make DH nervous whilst eating. There are lots of other restaurants to chose from.

They do not "pick on" people, as in make fun of them. There is just interaction between the servers and the guests that is really entertaining.

For example, at the 50s Prime Time you feel like you are actually eating in a 1950s home (the tables, decor, etc) and it is pretty authentic. The servers contribute to this atmospher by simply "acting" as though you are a family member and they are serving you a meal--like Mom. They might praise you for cleaning your plate, for example. It's actually very funny. We enjoyed the entire experience. Children would especially like this place.

I would tell your DH to go with an open mind and see what happens. I think even a shy person or one who generally doesn't like to participate might actually have a good time. The food is actually very good and has a homemade taste to go along with the theming.

I don't know about Whispering Canyon. I have heard it is noisy and lots of little kids, so probably this wouldn't be a good bet (although I can't wait to take my son there!)

My kids love the WCC. We have to go there every trip. I would say if you have kids go to WCC. If you don't have kids you could still try WCC. I think they have pretty good food. However, you may want to go during an "off" hour, or during breakfast when it's not quite as lively.
