50's or Hollywood and Vine?

My DS7 and I are going to the World on a Mother/Son trip in a few months. When we were at Disney last year, we did not make it to Fantasmic and this time it is on our 'must do' list.

I had us scheduled to eat at 50's Prime Time for lunch that day and then I got us a Fantasmic pkg for Hollywood and Vine. When I called last night about dining, I scored big time by getting a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast that day too.

I really need to cancel one of my reservations. We really want to eat at 50's, but is it more important to keep my Fantasmic dining pkg? If I cancel my dining pkg, how hard is it to get in to Fantasmic?

thanks!

I'm not sure when you will be going and how busy it will be but...I've gone to fantasmic twice on the package and once without. We were not willing to sit forever waiting so the time we went without the package we had to stand in the back and it was a miserable experience for us. Needless to say we always go with the package now. Could you move the Chef Mickey breakfast to another day? Or do you need to remove a meal completely? If you are trying to remove a meal then I would say it looks like you have to remove the 50's or get to fantasmic very early and spend your time waiting. Maybe someone with more experience can help out too.

Everyone makes a big deal about the Fantasmic package. We walked in 3 minutes before it started and had plenty of room for 5! I don't know if this was just a fluke, but many others were filing in and all found seats.

Is there any way that you can reschedule one of the meals? I'm not crazy about Chef Mickey's, but I can understand why you would want to go there- it's a very fun character meal. The 50's is a really fun restaurant, and it shouldn't be missed. If I had to choose, I would actually cancel the Fantasmic Dinner. Hollywood & Vine has proved to be very mediocre to our family, and the seats that are reserved for the dinner package aren't very good. They are all the way on the far right side. We always feel kind of out of it over there. Depending on when you are going, it might not even be necessary to get the package if the park won't be overly crowded to begin with.

Thanks for the tips so far! We are going Sept 28 - Oct 2nd...hitting DS on Sept 30th. Is this a really crowded time? We are on the dining plan. 50's just looks like a cool place to eat...and Chef Mickey's is the ONE place my son wants to return to and I've had a horrible time trying to get a reservation there until last night. It just stinks that it is on the day we are going to DS b/c I had lunch ADR's for 50's and dinner ADR's for Hollywood & Vine.... does the fun of eating at 50's outweigh the wait for Fantasmic? I really do need to cancel one table service meal.....
