$500 Gift Card or 30% discount

The room gift card can be used for food so that is what we will be doing since I have decided against the dining plan this time

We currently have ASMu booked with quick service DP and 25% off. I am thinking about dropping the dining plan and taking the $300 GC's and using them for the food. We have 2 rooms booked.

I added the 25% discount to our room at POP but didn't realize they actually upgraded my room to a preferred at the same time! When I called to change it to the gift card offer, I found out about the room change and it actually upped my original total, so when they applied the gift card it came out the same. The math checked out this way- standard room with 25% discount was exact same as preferred room with gift card. They said their were "no more standard rooms available under the gift card promotion, but they could give me a standard room under the 25% discount promotion". He apologized for them upgrading my room(at a cost to me), and kept trying to persuade me to keep the preferred room, but at this point in time I am tired of the whole mess! I have standard room with 25% discount and less to pay off before I go and I'm happy with that!

I called yesterday and the CM said you get the gift card upon arrival so you cannot use it to pay towards your package or dining plan. Even though the 30% off is saving us $23 less I would rather have all of that off my package.
