$500 for Mickey's Halloween Party ticket?

Before buying my MHP tickets for 10/11 I was looking on EBay just to see if any tickets were there, out of curiosity, and saw some for 9/30. For the heck of it I "watched" this item to see what they would go for, not realising that date had been sold out now. Just looked now that auction ended and 4 tickets sold for over $2000!!! How? Why? This is just crazy!
Glad I got mine on the Disneyland web site for $49. Holy Cow!

What could be funny, because this happened last year. In DL they started selling extra tickets on the days of parties. It would be funny to see the look on those buyer's faces if this happens again.

Ouch. I guess if you have that kind of money, maybe it just doesn't matter.
I was in no real hurry at first to buy my tickets for the 11th 'till I saw days were selling out fast.
I see there are more on there now. I guess this could happen every year and I've never thought of going before and never followed the prices.
I'm excited to go with the grandkids this year as the youngest(4-3/4) is old enough to really love this. HM is her favorite ride.

Even if I had that kind of money to waste, I wouldn't! We're going on Monday and there are still plenty of tickets for $49 avaialble for that date, lol. Yeah 3 days makes a difference worth $450 EACH....NOT.

Unless....is there something extra happening because Friday is the first party? I didn't see anything posted about, that's why I decided to wait until Monday because I was hoping Monday wouldn't be crazy busy because normal (i.e. local) folk would have to work on Tuesday so they wouldn't really want to go Monday, lol.

Can't wait to hear about Friday's party, but glad I'm not going to be there for a sold out crowd. Keeping fingers crossed that Monday is slow, lol.

I know that the US dollar is weak- maybe people from "elsewhere" are buying them?

Has anyone gone to the Halloween or Christmas Party when sold out? How crowded is it? How are long the waits for characters and rides? I didn't expect sold out nights other than Oct. 31.

The price for Oct. 31 is $64. There's no price break for that night.

With the tiered pricing you can see that Disney is aware of what parties are busiest. Fridays are higher, and the end of the season too.

I assure you, nobody paid those prices. Looks like some "fake" accounts (hence the low feedback) got in a bidding war.

Just bought my tickets for Monday October 3rd, out of curiosity I asked how many tickets were left. The CM told me there are still a lot of tickets available for that night. I'm going with MAH on this one, fake bidding. Sad that this is what people do

PS Not sure if you're here yet....but the weather is FANTASTIC here. We've been in S. Cal for 2 weeks now and I don't want to go home next week...even tho the weather channel says it's starting to get cool in Phoenix, it's NOT cool enough, lol.

Yes definitely not cool enough, it's almost 8 AM and about 82 degrees out. Not hot but definitely not our enjoyable October weather yet.
