50 year celebration??

Is there any information yet about what DL is going to do for this big milestone? We'd love to go and were just wondering what's up. Any info would be great!

don't hold you breath for anything spectacular

We'll get a "gold treatment" of the castle ... a new parade, maybe ... and maybe some new fireworks.

But no new attractions, and Space Mountain won't reopen until approx. Nov 2005 (4 months after the anniversary).

WDW will have more new attractions to celebrate DL's 50th, than DL will have.

I just read that the monorail system is to be mothballed until 2005 & innoventions is being downsized & partially used as a museum of sorts for the 50th.
I was just there yesterday & it was filthy.
What is going to be left of DL?

Some rumors are saying (and yes, they are just rumors) that WDW will actually end up hosting the festivities as a "50th Anniversary of the Disney Parks". I hope this is not true as the 50th is a good opportunity to get all those WDW people who turn up their nose at DLR to actually come West for a change and see what they are missing.

I think making Disneylands 50th Anniversary into a 50 years of Disney Parks is well for lack of any thing better to say, Stupid. I mean COME ON it is Disneyland Anniversary, let us celebrate it as such.
