We own BWV and CCV for 11 month booking window. was looking to add 3 nights GF, but not much more i can get 125-150 SSR and just book when we wanna go. Thoughts as prices begin to lower.

If that's your budget then I would say 150 SSR without a doubt. There's not a lot you can do at VGF with only 50 points. Additionally, you're going to feel like you got ripped off if you ever use them anywhere but VGF. I get the whole "buy where you want to stay" thing, but at these prices paying the premium isn't worth it IMO.

50 VGF vrs 150 SSR. Are you saying the numbers are the same cause that doesn't sound right at all.

I have 500 SSR points to use as SAP and have had good luck getting VGF during June and August for studios.

If you already own at other places you love, I think having them is a nice way to supplement!

Well he does say “ for not much more I can get 125-150 SSR”. 50 point VGF is probably going around $9,500 and 150 SSR $14,500, 125 would be around $1,500 cheaper. I would say it’s not much more and you get a lot more points.

I would look at the overall cost when you factor in annual dues. The dues on 50 VGF points is going to hurt a lot less than dues on 150 SSR points. But that’s not the only consideration.

You’re also going to pay a premium price for that small VGF contract. Much more $/pt. than a 150-point contract at VGF. And buying VGF @50 points is not going to get you 3 nights in a VGF studio every year during most seasons. The cheapest season for 2021 is 9/01-09/19 where a standard view studio is 16 pts. per night, Sun-Thurs.

Consider how many points you would actually use and look for a contract that suits your needs. Purchasing 150 SSR points may be way more points than you need every year, considering that you already have contracts at 2 other resorts. Do you really want to buy that many, knowing that you will have to pay annual dues on them?

My advice would be to get the number of SSR points that you will need and seek a transfer of VGF points when you wish to stay there.

Studios at VGF will be tough at seven months out, but we've gotten a standard one bedroom twice in early May in the past.

I'd do neither. Try for a 100 point contract at BLT or other resort instead.

why at BLT? we stayed one night and did not like the studio and the decor at all. We have two teenagers and my wife and I. we are ready to move into 1/2 bedrooms.

if you're ready to move to bigger units, get the bigger contract at SSR. You can usually get AKV and OKW 1BR at 7 months. The 1 BR have an extra sleeper chair in addition to sleeper sofa/Murphy bed and are lower on points chart than other resorts. AKV standard and OKW 1BR are good points deals. Kidani even has 2 bathrooms.

If you already know BLT is no for you, then definitely not a place to own!

I love the 1 & 2 bedrooms at BLT, as does my family. Love the view. Never stayed in the studio, I have heard others do not like them. Love being able to get quick access to the roof top bar, love the dining options at the Contemporary, love the Monorail and easy access to the restaurants at Poly and GF. We usually use the pool at the Contemporary rather than BLT.

The 50 pts at GFV wouldn't go far if you start preferring 1BR's. But if you're doing split stays, maybe just start in a studio for 3 days at GF then move to a 1BR to spread out for the rest of the trip. I like the idea of paying less dues on the smaller contract.
