$50 off $100 purchase at Best Buy

I heard they ammended it, it's going to expire tomorrow. Taking advantage of it tonight for a few things we've been eyeing.

Don't forget they're doing the DVD trade in program. Get $5 off any blu ray 9.99 or more when you trade in one DVD.

Yeah just read through comments by others on best buy' s face book page...looks like they aren't going to honor this. not surprised, I have bought a total of 7 things from them over the past seven years online to have them all cancelled on their end due to them not honoring the listed price. no surprise they are in dire straights, their customer service is a laughing stock.

My store was honoring it but with a million provisions, and could only be used on one item over $100. You couldn't buy a bunch of smaller items to reach a $100.

I got one of these yesterday. I am hoping to use it tonight as I can't go before then.

I too have been reading that many were turned away or new restrictions put on them.

I am a bit worried, but will try it. If it doesn't work, I will just not buy it from BB as it is cheaper online.

BB has never been my favorite place. The prices are higher, the lines are longer, the service people can't be found when needed and they aren't always friendly, etc....this past Christmas a friend was buying all her gifts at BB and I told her to stop. I helped her buy every item on her list that would have been purchased from BB at Amazon and saved her $400 in total (she did have some large ticket purchase items.)

My Best Buy honored the coupon last night. I purchased two birthday gifts and two iTunes gift cards with no problems whatsoever. However, I have heard that each store is making up their own rules. I was pleased to see that my store was abiding by the printed terms.

Well, that's a bummer. Sorry to post something that wasn't totally legit! :worried:

It WAS legit. But then BB decided in the midst of the promotion to change the terms and the duration. A bait and switch if you ask me, they get you into their store with the promise of a certain deal and then when you get there, they switch the deal...Very poor showing for BB.

I've never had many problems with BB before. My bf also has the silver status on his rewards card, and is able to get a 60 day return policy. That also means he can price adjust for 60 days. Bought 3 three games, buy 2 get 1 free, went back over a month later and got it price adjusted to a Gamestop ad. Saved $40 by doing that.

I was able to use the coupon last night to buy a Keurig coffee maker :)

The biggest problem with this is the misuse. The coupon was emailed to certain people yet was posted to slickdeals and other sites for everyone. The coupon was abused so bad by some that Bestbuy really lost a lot of money. When people brag about getting $3000 in Amazon gift cards and such but only paid 1,500, it really ruins it. Sorry but more and more companies are dropping good deals because of the abuse.

Yes, this coupon went viral and is not being used as it was intended. It seems like all of these stores have to "learn the hard way" to not send out coupons with generic bar codes. If they don't want to be used and abused they should send out unique codes for each customer they intend it to go to.

I went in today. I was unable to use the coupon, but was told that a new one would come out tomorrow which would list specifically what would be excluded/included, etc.....

I don't know if that is accurate info, but the guy said that they had had a meeting earlier that day with the manager and that is what they were told.

Thanks for posting the coupon. I was also able to use the coupon today. Great idea to use for a kuerig brewer. I bought a single serve brewer for my office.

I remember seeing this on a deal site and thought I had missed out because it expired on 1/21...this one clearly says 1/27 at the top. I figure it's worth a shot, never know 'til you ask. I figure it is worth venturing into the store and giving it a look.

I am not getting my hopes up too much though.

Dh tried it today on a tablet. He was told tablets and e-readers are excluded. I don't see that in the fine print, but I'm sure he didn't argue like I would have! ;)

The coupon was not honored at our Best Buy today.

DH made his purchase anyway. We bought a washing machine from them recently and it had the smallest dent in it. They gave us a $50 gift card because of that. So my 4 year old lucked out and got a better birthday present than she would have otherwise! Even though she is kind of young for it, we bought her a Nintendo DS because we fly and drive a lot and she is jealous of her 2 older brothers having them when we travel.

You would be amazed at the amount of coupon fraud that goes on and how people do it. I work for a retailer and last year alone we lost $6.5 million dollars in fraud. We do put out some coupons that we intend know will go viral and that is our intention but then there are customer specific ones that we don't intend to go viral, but people figure out how to do it anyway.

It isn't always as easy as just sending out a unque code to each customer. There is a combination of issues that can prevent a retailers from being able to do a customer specific coupons for some offers from systems issues, code generation, accounting issues and then store operational issues.

I know more about coupons that I ever wanted to know and you would be amazed at a lot of the behind the scenes this that have to go on.
