would you buy bottled water for .50 if you were at an outside event in the south?:confused3

We have a farmer's market locally and, as always, I was thinking of ways to make $$$$$ for WDW. So, I thought - Why not sell bottled water??? It is sooooo hot here and .50 is pretty cheap.

What do think?

Absolutely. Water at events here in the North costs $1 or $2, which we pay out of necessity. 50 cents would be a great deal, especially where it's hotter.

THANKS!!!! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT! I'M OFF TO SAMS TO BUY A FEW CASES!!!:cool1::cool1:

Just my .02 (more) - we were just at BJ's and they had Poland Spring for $6 for a 36 pack. That would be $12 profit. I don't know if you're looking at the Sam's Club brand, but I personally would be less likely to buy the sam's club brand (or most other generic brands) if someone were offering a poland spring (or I think they have zephyr hills in the south) even if it's more money.

Absolutely, but I think you could even charge .75, I never seem to find it for less than $1 at those kinds of places.

Remember to figure in the cost of ice to keep it cold. If you bought 36 waters for $6 + $2 for a bag of ice and sold 36 in 1 hour, you would make about $10 per hour if you don't have to pay for a license or rent a spot. Depending on where you live, you may need a peddler's license and/or health department permit.

Is that worth the time and trouble to go and setup or could you sell a lot more water and make it more than that. I think most people that will pay .50 would pay a dollar and it would would be more profitable.

You are VERY likely in need of a license EVEN those that do it for clubs, even Scouting needs permission. Also, health dept, is an issue, imagine if someone said you tampered with, got sick...etc....personally no food and drinks without proper permits and a small profit can mean a BIG headache, not worth it by us, but some still do it and take the chance, a chance some are willing to take, I guess.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE!! If i have to search for 50 cents then i have a dollar and wouldnt hesitate becuase its cold water. Even consider 75 cents..still a great deal.

Here in CHicago - lots of people set up in the blocks around Wrigley Field as most people walk soem distance to the Cubs' games. $1 - $3 a bottle is pretty typical.

Out here you only need a license to sell cooked foods. Unopened resells only require a tax certificate and permission from the property owner. If you bottle your own, food license; if you re-sell what you already bought, tax certificate only.

It depends on her city ordinances and state laws. Very easy to find info online.

Up here it's a $1 a bottle at least.
Here's an idea... our school sells water for 75 cents and a little drink flavor pack for .25 cents. Those little packs are usually the wal mart brand and are an add-on that makes it a quick and easy dollar.

Good luck and hope you makes bunches of money :)
