Do you think $50.00 a day for just myself and my 4 yr old son will be enough?
The $50 will just be used for any goodies (Mickey bars, counter service, popcorn, etc) and tinkets (T-shirts, pins, etc)

We do plan on doing some character meals but that will not be included in the $50 a day. ( I am saving separate money for those)

This trip in June will be just myself, my son & my mom. DH is staying home this time around, although I promised I would bring something back for him! LOL
I am sure my mother will buy my son a good share of Mickey bars when we are down there.
We will be there for 14 days.

Just wondering if $50 per day would be enough or should I bump it up a bit???

I think that's plenty. I took my four year old in October and that's about how much we spent, not including a couple character meals we did. I'm trying to plan a trip for next month and my budget is going to be $50 a day for that trip.

I did $50 a day for four people on a 14 day trip (USF/SW/IOA/BG/WW) and after the 14 days had $125 left over.

I can stretch a dollar until it screams for mercy, so yes it can be done.

On our most recent WDW trip, we budgeted either only with Q & C vouchers... the most we ever spent was $7 for two milkshakes (everyone shared) and $14 for two margaritas... we shared there as well. (no, the kids didn't get any!)

We bought souvies before we left, and that was fine as well.

It can be done. Up until this last year that was my budget for one adult and two kids 10 and under. This also included at least two character meals. Now that the kids are starting to eat me out of the house my budget goes up to $75/day.

This may not work for a 4 year old, but it satisfies my 11 & 13 yo. They are guaranteed a shopping trip on the last day of vacation. They have all week to 'window shop' and decide just what they want as a souvenier or gift, knowing that I will take them back to wherever they saw the item. This cuts down on impulse buying and later regreting it when they find something better.
I always treat myself to a t-shirt, about $ 25.00, but they like stuffed animals. One year I let them collect pins, they loved it, but it totally blew our budget. Now, they collect autographs.

One good thing about a 4 year old is that he probably can't eat a whole ice cream or popcorn, so YOU get credit for buying the fun stuff AND a snack!
Have fun!

If you can, go a bit higher. You will then either have spent it or have some left. Better safe than sorry. Actually I think $50 is more than enough.

Thank you everyone.
I was thinking $50 should be enough for just me & him. He isn't that big of an eater & since we will be having character breakfasts a few mornings I don't expect him to eat much for lunch those days.
Since we are going in June, I myself will eat a decent breakfast but light lunches & suppers (I tend to eat very little in the heat, expect ice cream & dole whips! ;) )

As far as trinkets, his big thing is usually stuffed animals. Although last time he really wanted one of those potato heads, I didn't buy him one. I think this time if he still wants it I will let him have it.
I, myself, have to get a t-shirt or two ;) Of course this time I will also have to get DH a t-shirt to bring home.
I do plan on heading out to Belz to the Disney outlet, just to see if they have anything.

After reading other experiences, I am sure we will do just fine on $50 a day!
