My sister is coming on an upcoming trip with my family. The problem: she has 3 kids. Can 5 people, 3 of which being children ages 7, 5, and 3, stay at Pop?

I know that it is probably "against the rules," but has anyone else gotten a roll away and done this? We really don't want to spend the money on an additional room or a more expensive hotel.

Sorry, but there is NO way to stay at POP with 5 people. You will be evicted from the hotel if you attempt it and are caught, so you might want to look into getting two rooms, or a suite in a value, or even room at a moderate hotel. Everyone in the room age 3 and up must be listed on the reservation and will have their own room key for EMH purposes. I don't even know if POP has roll away beds. No idea where they would put one if they have them, either.

If her youngest was two then you would have been able to, but because they are 3, they need to be listed on the ressie for not only EMH purposes but also for DME if you're using it.

All Star Music has a family suite consisting of a bedroom with 2 beds and a living area with a pull out bed. You would have a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. It actually sleeps up to 6. I have stayed at it before and I really appreciate the kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. Very important!

AoA also has family suites that sleep up to 6.

They are your only 2 value resort options that sleep at least 5 people.

Unfortunately there is no room for 5 in the values except in the suites. The moderate rooms are less money than the suites though, and fit 5. :thumbsup2

To clarify, the only moderate rooms that sleep 5 are in the Bayou section of Port Orleans Riverside. All of the other moderates are 4 in a room.

Plus, it's against the rules of the DIS to try to find out ways to get around Disney's rules.

Unfortunately the only way to stay within the rules, not spend a fortune and get all 5 in the same room is to get a room Port Orleans Riverside. It'll cost more than a room at Pop but it's not nearly as expensive as the value resort suites. The suites at ASMu are too expensive and the suites at AoA are ridiculously expensive.

Keep checking back for room discounts. I would go with (the lesser cost) Port Orleans Riverside even if it takes a little more check checking back there for vacancies.

When our 3 kids were young, we always stayed at POR in one of the Alligator bayou rooms with the trundle bed. Now that my DDs are teenagers, we always get 2 connecting rooms at a value, or one of the family suites at a value resort. Believe me, 5 people in one room at a value would be VERY tight, even if it was legal.
