Going for 6 days/5 nights

Not sure what time I will be arriving - but I have an arrival dinner ADR for Chef Mickey's.

Deciding on either 6 day pass or only 5 - check in, feel out the resort (AoA), relax a bit and then head to Chef Mickey's?

what do you think?

You can get a 5 day and decide when you arrive whether to burn one or not then add a day if you hit a park on arrival.

either go to the concierge desk at your hotel (if you are staying on site) or at one of the parks or Disney Springs and add an extra day. You can do it any time up until you use the last day of your 5 day ticket. There is no difference in price for upgrading later or buying now. Only thing will be you will not be able to make Fps for any more than your 5 day ticket (until you have added that extra day).

ok great......thanks for the info!

We're buying 9 day hoppers for this Nov so we can make FP+ choices. On leaving our first day park we'll hit guest relations and upgrade to an AP. We'll need to have photo ID for this, not sure if it's necessary for just adding a day.

If you only have a 5 day ticket, and choose to add another day when you get there, can you schedule FP+ for 6 days?

hmm..now I am not sure..

what do ppl usually do upon arrival?

especially since we PLAN on getting to AoA around noon and I mean plan but of course a lot can happen.

For as little as is the cost of a 6th day ($20) I'd go ahead and buy it in advance and make FP+ reservations for the late afternoon/evening of the first day.

We always go to a park on arrival day.

Personally, i would just spend the extra $20 per person and buy the 6 day tickets now.

ah yes $20 or so per person..got it

We're boarding a flight at 5:30 am in Philly in order to capture the first day and as suggested we make FP+ choices for Epcot noonish the day we arrive. First, of course, wifey and I walk on the 'ride' shown below, have to have breakfast before a busy WDW day.

We don't usually get in until afternoon but we ALWAYS go to MK our first day, even if its only for a few hours.
It doesn't feel like we're truly there until we walk up Main Street, grab a bite at Casey's and head to PotC for the first ride of our vacation!
I'd get the extra day :)

We fly in and land around 10 am. I usually plan our first fast passes for 2-3PM so that we don't have any rush to get to the park because you just never know when your flight might be a little late or when ME will take longer than expected. And I usually make the first one a FP that will be easy to reschedule for later in the day if necessary.
