We have a week booked but will only be able to stay for 5 nights. If we add the DDP can we do it for the 5 nights or do we have to do it for the 7 nights?

Thanks!

You have to do it for the length of your stay. What you could do, is switch hotels for day's 6 and 7 and that way it's a completely different reservation and you wouldn't have to worry. This only works if you're ok switching and not getting tickets with the room (probably).

Until they use my idea "Disney's Dine As You Wish" or "Disney Dining Done Your Way".......you have to use it for the length of stay.

Wouldn't it be soooooooo nice to choose a dining plan but you could pick what days you want to use it. Maybe you want to pick the regular plan for 3 days, deluxe for 2 nights and counter service for 2 on a week's stay. OR...better yet..not even have to have a dining plan each day. Maybe you only want 3 days of a week's stay using the regular plan. Or maybe you are celebrating a special occasion so you add 1 deluxe dining day and the rest counter.

I can dream right.....................:cloud9:

Thanks for the replies! We have the room from the 3rd until the 10th but we will not be checking in until the 5th so we would lose 2 days of dining so I guess we will pay as we eat!

Maybe I am missing something, but why not drop the 3rd and 4th from your ressie? This frees the room up for someone else, and you can have the dining plan for 5 nights. It also saves you two nights' worth of points.

And, even if you have some reason to keep the first two nights, be careful of losing the entire reservation. I'm not totally sure, but isn't there some policy on canceling a reservation if you don't show up without a call?

I admit, I am exhausted, so maybe I haven't seen some obvious detail. :confused3

I'm puzzled by this as well.

Sorry it's so confusing. I can't drop the 3rd & 4th because I traded in using RCI.

If you don't show up on the day you are supposed to arrive, your reservation may be cancelled and you lose it.

No options. You must get if for everyone for 7 nights if you do take the DP. Depending on your restaurant reservations that you have in had you may want to consider not getting the DP or doing the Quick service plan instead. We just had 2 rooms at AKV through RCI and got the DDP for one room and the QS plan for the other.

You definitely need to make sure they are aware you're arriving late. Call DVC, not RCI.

I just called them last year and told DVC that we wouldn't be there on our check in date and they noted it and we had no problem checking in when we got there. I will call them again this year.

Looks like it will be a pay as we eat trip this time!

We'll be doing the same at Thanksgiving, arriving for 5 nights instead of 7.
