Hi,
We are looking for a DCL cruise in April 2026, departing from PC (during our 2 weeks holidays : 04/11-04/26).
It will be the first time with our children (6, 8 and 10 at time of travel). We (me+wife) only experienced one 7 days cruise on the Fantasy in 2021 (but have another one planned this October 😊)
As we're flying from Europe, we want to cruise minimum 7 days, the best option seems to book 2 cruises:
- 2026/04/13 - 04/17 on the Wish
- 2025/04/17 - 04/22 on the Fantasy

We already booked the Wish cruise a few weeks ago but we have some questions before booking the 2nd one (and waiting to buy a placeholder on our upcoming cruise). I know how it works with B2B cruises (same ship, same terminal) but how it works in this case? Different terminals? If yes, how far away are the terminals? Are transfers arranged by DCL? Has anyone experienced this?

Thank you,
Jeremy

Is there a reason you wouldn’t just choose a 7-night cruise on the Treasure? I have done B2B cruises on same ship and the ease of it was due to us having the same cabin for both cruises and not having to pack on the last night of the first cruise.
I personally would prefer the more relaxed pace of a 7-nt Eastern or Western Caribbean cruise vs packing and changing ships mid week. JMHO.

I would definitely book 2 placeholders when you cruise in October, in case you decide to get 2 cheaper cabins that connect vs one larger cabin that sleeps 5.

You would have to get a taxi or Uber from one terminal to the other. Seems like a lot of trouble. I would book a longer cruise or a B2B on the same ship.

You are also cruising during Easter. The last 2 years, the fantasy has had 4500+ people on board the Easter cruises. Pack your patience during that time.

Yes, it was the original plan but the only 7 night cruise available is the western which ends on 04/25 : this force us to take the return flight on debarkation day to be back on 04/26 in Europe.
And the 2nd point is that I really want to discover Disney Lookout Cay 😅

Thank you, I will think about it. The 3-night Wish (04/17-04/20) may also be a good alternative as 2nd cruise.

Could you do a b2b on the Fantasy? It would be expensive for 9 nts (17-22nd then 22-26th).

Honestly, debarking from DCL and heading to the airport to go home to UK seems like the most pleasant way to end a visit to FL.

It’s just a very very long day since all the flights back to the UK are in the evening. I’ve done it before (and will be doing in again in January) but I much prefer to have one night post cruise in FL if possible.

If you’re not doing the parks would you consider looking at the Dream or Destiny from Port Everglades? Not sure what their dates are like.

But why would they want to spend time on the same ship doing an expensive b2b when they can spend it on two different ships for a similar price? You get twice as many shows. A whole new range of bars, restaurants and experiences.

Definately book the two ships. Wish and fantasy. Paying for the same ship twice when a second is available with a whole range of new experiences is just plain silly.

I would definately book fantasy and wish. If you are willing to carry off your luggage you can be off the first ship by 7:30am giving you heaps of time to catch a taxi to the other terminal. Too much time in fact. Two ships will be much more fun then a b2b on the same ship.

You will be at different terminals and Disney likely won’t offer transportation. I’d guess terminals 8 and 10 based on 2025 schedules but that info for 2026 is not out yet.

I saw this suggestion for your situation on another site -

Get off the Wish and take a taxi or rideshare to Grill’s Restaurant there at the port, as that is the only one open for breakfast. Have a late breakfast & then taxi back to the other terminal for the Fantasy. Depending on your boarding group for the Fantasy, debark the Wish as late as possible if needed.

Here is a map to the port area if needed. This will keep you in the port area from one to the other.

I’d go for it, and have fun!

We are doing something similar this summer only 5 nights on the Magic followed by 3 nights on RCCL, Utopia of the Sea. We plan to take an Uber when we disembark the Magic to the RCCL terminal. Hoping it all works smoothly. ;)

Im thinking of doing something similar late next year.

Disney treasure and then star of the seas. Admittedly there will be a days gap in this trip and we will just use it to go to kennedy space centre.

Some answers to your questions:

> I’m not sure there have been two Disney ships in port on the same day. If so, pretty rare.

> As for distance. DCL is using Terminal 10 this Winter for the Wish; it seems to be a multi-cruise line usage terminal. There’s no permanent decor representing any cruise company. The entire port area is not designed for walking. Sidewalks connect parking areas to terminals and allow for lined up guests pre- and post-cruise using transfers.

If you walked on the road, it is 0.5 miles.

> You will be off the first ship by 9 am (maybe not through Customs that quickly), but you should have a PAT closer to 11 am (at the earliest, in not in Concierge). I don’t foresee them letting you jump the queue and “reboard” the second ship with true B2B cruisers.

The idea to go for “breakfast” seems like the best option.

It could just be an awkward use of a couple of hours, but worth it to have a two-ship experience. And a 2Cay experience.

People do it all the time. If you plan it right, and have the same cabin for both cruises, you don't have to pack at all the last night of the first cruise. In the morning, it's easy. You go to the terminal while they officially clear the ship and in less than an hour, you're back onboard. You're relaxing by the pool before new cruisers have even arrived in the terminal.
Do you think OP's husband and 3 children are going to do all that packing and unpacking again? Chances are, it's the mom doing all that crap.
Of course people are free to book whatever kind of vacation they like but changing ships seems way more difficult than flying to London after debarking a ship. JMHO.

I just did a b2b on the Wish and wouldn’t have had time to relax and see everything just on a 3 or 4n cruise. It’s nice because you can skip the shows half the time giving you extra time in the pool/slides/bars/activities.

My husband and kids always pack and unpack and handle their own luggage. Why are you assuming the wife/mom is doing it?
Everyone I know with kids, including when my own were that age, packs for them, does laundry, etc. That's great that yours are so independent.
