$5 more for MYW with dining w/ AAA-see new post!!

Okay, now i am pretty sure that a AAA discount is meaningless when it comes to DW!! We have a package thru disney at the Poly Nov 15-21 that we are looking to change to a moderate resort due to financial concerns. I am trying to get us the best deal possible so i called AAA today to get some quotes on CSR. I thought surely AAA can get us some kind of discount since we are members so i gave the okay to transfer our package to AAA. Well guess what, wrong!! They quoted me $5 more than the disney website for standard view at CSR! What is the deal?? Last year we got a small discount for thanksgiving week through AAA. I know we'll get some kind of parking passes and a storytime deal but now i feel like a sucker! I guess our only hope for any kind of discount is for Disney to come out with a code for AAA to apply to our package! Sorry for the vent but i am so frustrated now. Anyone have an experience like this??

call them and demand a completely accounting of everything they are charging to you.

they may have you in preferred not standard.

AAA rates are like other rates they have so many rooms available at the rate once they are gone you pay standard rate. But when the rate is available it is less, because you get the room discount on your package.
I booked a 6 night package through AAA last Friday for November. Quote from Disney was 2258 at POR Water view with dining plan 7 day park hopper passes no water park option. I then called and booked the same package thru AAA for 2057.

Maybe it would be worth it to see if they can get me some kind of discount for Port Orleans then?? I have never stayed there but hear good things! We booked our trip last november around this time and we did get a discount for CSR so i guess i was expecting some kind of break, ya know? Thanks for the advice!

AAA rates are like other rates they have so many rooms available at the rate once they are gone you pay standard rate.

Since you trip is so close.. i think that's the rub right there. I don't think there actually ARE any AAA discounted rooms at the resort you've picked. These tend to go FAST.

I requested a quote for Pop Century, for 10 nights in February, with a 10 day park hopper with DDP for 2 people. They quoted me $2613.54.

When I researched booking myself on Disney's web site, it would cost $2755.28, so there is at least some savings.

thanks to everyone for the advice! We are still going to go for CSR and hope for a code to get maybe a little discount...Regardless if i book the trip through disney or AAA it will still cost a lot less to go with CSR than the Poly! I stayed at CSR last year and the only downside was the buses with a stroller. If we find the buses to be too much of a hassle, then we can use our AAA parking pass to get a closer parking spot and just use our own vehicle. We did this a few times last november. I am still optimistic that there will be some kind of code we can use this month!

Well, let me start off by saying that i was a little critical of AAA yesterday. Yesterday, the agent only got me a quote on standard view at CSR and there was not a discount, only $5 more than DW website. I told her yesterday to also please get a quote on water view. Well, today the nice AAA agent called me and got me water view at CSR (11-15 to 11-21) with park hoppers and dining plan for $187 less than DW website which also includes trip insurance. I wonder if they are just out of standard rooms with a AAA discount for our time frame?? Anyway, i am still hoping to get a code that will save us more money but any discount is nice to get. Now i am feeling the AAA love!
