So true! The ideas from the sites and Google images are a lot of fun to go thru.

I'd originally started to plan a Pirates night for us this week in honor of and preparation for POTC4 next weekend, but we ended up watching it on TV last night. Now I'm not sure what we're doing and by now I've ususally got it done!

No worries though, whatever we end up with will still be fun.

Another movie night tonite! I'd originally intended to do a Pirates theme since we'll be seeing POTC - On Stranger Tides this weekend, but we ended up watching it on TV instead. So I came up with a quick alternate and it turned out great!


Our choice?

This was an easier one to do... we turned our dining room into Tony's for the evening and had a lovely dinner. Our setup and decorations....

Print outs of most of the characters adorned the fireplace while our table was set up similar to that oh so famous scene of the movie. Red checkered table cloth, candle in a wine bottle, breadsticks.... I added a second bottle with a single red rose (left from Mother's Day!), scattered white rose petals, added a few bunches of red grapes and taped a "Tony's menu" to the wine bottle.

Dinner was of course spaghetti and meatballs and we had sparkling wine (strawberry fruitopia for Alex, Demetri and I... white "milk" wine for Ariana) out of real glass wine glasses. No one in our house drinks wine so I actually had to borrow the wine bottles from friends from work and the glasses are from the dollar store!


Lady joined us.....

... and halfway thru dinner I explained that Jock loves to bury his bones. For a fun activity, I'd "buried" six pink bones and six white bones in the living room. Demetri was to look for the white ones, Ariana the pink, and if they found someone elses, they were to keep it a secret and leave it hidden. They had fun searching for the bones......

....and as they were finishing that, I snuck into the room where the movies are stored and tucked away a picture of Tramp next to the Lady and the Tramp VHS tape on the shelf. I rejoined them in the living room and told the kids that before we could watch the movie, they needed to "rescue" Tramp from the dog catcher. They could find him where the movie was....

A very easy little game but it made them smile and they loved reading Tramp's thank you for being rescued.


Time for the feature presentation and our movie snack.....

Puppy Chow of course! Okay, so actually it was Bits and Bites but the kids accepted it was Puppy Chow.

This was another movie we hadn't watched for quite some time and it was very nice to see it again. The songs were too cute and the Siamese cats were a favorite from my childhood.... the kids thought it was a riot when I would sing "We are Siamese if you please ... da dum dum dum" shifting my head back and forth like the cats.


Soon it was time to take another segment of links down....

Steal away! I stole them too I'd planned too for some face painting for little doggie faces but forgot. Oh well, I'll save that maybe for a 101 Dalmations night.

Seriously, how long of a flight is it you think from TX to your house LOL!!! I want to come over to a movie night LOL!!!! Lady and the Tramp I bought that for a very special 5 year old and I hope to borrow it from her soon so I can rewatch it that and Tangled LOL I can't believe I haven't seen it yet!!

YAY for going to see POTC 4 I really want to go see it but we'll have to wait and see what the weekend brings LOL!!! Maybe I will take an afternoon and go see it in Disney when I'm down there in June!!!!

Yay for watching Lady and the Tramp!! I watched it yesterday and loved it! I was hoping to cook some spaghetti meatballs but did not end up doing so

The looking for bones activity looks like fun - something my competitive side would have enjoyed doing!

Another great movie night! I love Lady & the tramp and used to watch it every day when I was little! Your activities were so cute too! I had wanted to do a L&T night before our trip but I was told we didn't own the movie.. I later found out that my mom was just hoarding them because she didn't want me taking ALL of the Disney movies Maybe before our Disneyland Half Marathon trip...

We watched a movie this week but that's all we did so I don't have any pictures.

We watched Secretariat and I thought it was good, we had never seen it before.

Of course we took down some links too

We only have 125 days till our trip now, I can't wait to get down to 99!!!

Hey, I have not watched Secretariat so will have to get round to it. I remember it being advertised at the pics but am not really a horse person so it didn't appeal to me as much as some of the other movies.

Hello everyone, sorry it took so long to get this posted but it has been very busy around here!!!

So on Thursday night we decided to watch

I love this movie, I find it a very fun movie instead of the typical princess movie

So I set the table

We had fried chicken and rice for dinner and for dessert we had frogs (made from apples) frog eggs (grapes) and green jello (forgot to get a picture )

I got the girls and I some Mardi Gras masks

I found a cool game called kiss the frog

It's the same idea as pin the tail on the donkey only it's a frog and you use lips

You still get blindfolded lol

After that we watched the movie then took down 1 more weeks worth of links!!!

I thought it was a good night and very glad we got back to a good one

Loving your movie nights, they are all great and you are wonderful moms for putting forth the effort every week Fridays are generally family movie night in our house and while it is often a Disney movie its pretty much limited to watching the movie and eating popcorn Maybe once our trip gets closer I'll be inspired to add in the dinner and activity themes...I know where to go to get ideas!
