5 for 3?

Do the 5 for 3 specials always expire before Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas?

I'd SO love to be able longer than 3 days, but we are going the week after Thanksgiving. I suppose they don't usually have specials during the holiday season, huh? :confused3

I'm sure they're planning at least some sort of deal since the website has a link for special savings. It just annoyingly still reads "coming soon." Disney is feeling more confident in their numbers this year, so no doubt they're waiting until the last minute to announce anything in order to judge demand. WDW is -always- having some sort of deal for folks staying an extended number of days. I hope DL follows suit. I just hope that when the new deal is announced, I can make my reservation before it's all booked!

This actually brings me to my question. At WDW if you have a reservation and a deal is released you can call and have it added to your current reservation. Is it the same at DL? I made a reservation at the Grand in hopes that some type of discount/deal would be announced - without one I will have to give up that reservation and stay at the HoJo instead....

Yes! If you have a reservation and a better deal becomes available, you can take advantage of it on your current reservation!

Does anyone else think that if there is a deal that they will post it after Mickey's little summer countdown on the site. Today, it's "6 days" left until summer. The next day, do you think it will be "Summer!" with the deals? I don't know...I'm just overanalyzing and trying to wish hard enough that it comes true.:cheer2:

That was my thought too. Hope so, I'll be pissed if the special offer coming soon isn't soon!

Tomorrow is the last day of the current deal, so if it's not tomorrow, it had better be the "1st" day of summer!

I don't think one has anything to do with the other.

We are talking about vacations. They aren't planned for tomorrow, they are planned for new month, next season, in some cases next year.

In most cases DLR has offers in one season for the next. So it plans about 1 to 3 months out.

But sales are to increase business. It's not like Disney can turn on the speed on the assembly line. If advanced bookings are already high, and the hotels already full, there is not need to offer discounts. Now I don't know what the booking rates are currently but in Janurary they were announced for this summer and looked terrific. If they booked the rest of those rooms, is the question.

They can't be *that* full, because there is still availability at all hotels for the dates I need in mid-July!

Average max hotels occupancy is 85% this is an industry standard. DLR was around 65% in January. That looks very full, 5 months ago.

I agree and would be very surprised to see the 5 for 3 offer announced this late in the year. With two new rides, new restaurants, new hotel pool slides and a cute new parade Disneyland will do just fine this summer :)

Well, I was wrong darn it! I checked the little Mickey countdown, which now says 94 days left of summer and no new promotions. Well at least now I can quit obsessing on that and firm up my itinerary, lol.

Alas, looks like I'll be staying put at the Fairfield for my visit. Frustrating, considering WDW always has a hotel sale. But then they've got a more considerable amount of rooms to fill. Oh well :sad2:

There is a promotion for 25% off, through August 13. The Dobies got PP for $218.

Disneyworld is the park that needs some help with finances, Disneyland is doing fairly well. We all would like the specials but we are limited it looks like for the time being.

I did see that on Travelocity. I think it's still a bit too high for my group. I'm splitting with 3 friends and one of them is pretty restricted on funds. :guilty:

Okay, so does anyone think I should wait to buy my 5day park hoppers. We leave June 21st, and if there isn't going to be a discount, I may as well order them and be done with it. I'm sure any ticket special would've been posted by now, right??

I don't have a lot of hope that a deal will show up soon. But it won't hurt you to wait. It doesn't take long to order and print an E-ticket, you could do it right before you leave.

I guess it could only hurt to not wait if a deal did come out, so I will wait until a few days before we go. Thanks for the nudge on what to do.
