5 Days At Disneyland, My Short Trip Report

So, with the Aladdin preferred seating you get to choose where you want to sit? I thought I read somewhere that there was a section for preferred seating and that it wasn't that good for viewing the show. Maybe we will use the preferred vouchers...

Ohhhh, my daughters loved Captain EO. I enjoyed seeing it also, but wow is it corny and cheesy all wrapped up in one. I know this, if I ever get to assemble a space troop, I am not inviting Hooter, that dude is worthless.

I love Hooter. I have a Hooter from the first time I saw Captain EO at DW in the 80s. Well my DD 14 has it now. I am so looking forward to seeing EO again but too bad they don't have the lasers etc to go with it.

Today the Golden Horseshoe (sorry, I called it the Diamond Horseshoe) restaurant is basically a counterservice type place that offers some "free" entertainment located in Frontierland. You can pretty much head in there, order off the menu boards, and find a seat. The icecream dishes looked delicious, but we had the fish and chips and Chicken Strip basket.

As for the entertainment, there are two choices; Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and the Laughing Stock Co. Billy Hill and the Hillbillies is a group of "brothers" all named Billy and they all play fiddles. It's great. They play Thrus., Fri., Sat., Sun., & Mon. at different times during the day (check out the DL schedule for times). You don't have to buy anything to watch and enjoy, though I think it would be rude to take seats away from paying customers (just my opinion).
It is also very common for people to bring in food from else where. popcorn::
It is a great show.... one that I would definitely schedule in if you can. :thumbsup2

By the theater on the outside, you will see 2 lines. One that starts by the marquee, and one that starts around the back. The people standing by the marquee are the preferred seaters. They get filed in first before the rest of the crowd, and have the choice to sit wherever they want. Most pick the first rows. Hope this helps. :goodvibes

This comment is very interesting to me, and definitely points out that there are many different points of view! To us, the Golden Horseshoe is the location where the Billy Hill show takes place, and it also just happens to serve some food & drinks. We never purchase food there, but will arrive 30-60 minutes before a show to get a good spot and will bring our snacks from elsewhere and take a break and play cards or something while waiting for the show. We're always amazed when people who were eating there would get up and leave minutes before the show starts! :lmao: I guess to them, this was a restaurant only! LOL! I wonder if they even knew they were leaving just before a great show!

Tinkermell is exactly right... atleast the day we were there that's how it worked. According to the Castmember there are only 150 people allowed in with the vouchers so it's not like they will take up a lot of the seating.

He ate the map!!!!! Nowadays in our household whenever we can't find anything we blame it on Hooter. :rotfl:
