5 day PH+ with unused day and pluses

My sister and her husband went to WDW last May and bought 5 day PHPs (2 pluses). They have one unused day and both pluses are unused. Another sister and my mom and niece are going to WDW in June. I have a PAP. My sister gave me her 5 day PHPs for my sister and mom to use/trade in towards a MYW ticket. I want to make sure that what I have read is correct. The trade-in value of the 5 day PHP with one unused day is the same whether or not there are any plus features left, right? The reason I ask is because when my son and I go to WDW next month (woohoo only 31 more days!!) friends of ours will be there for a few days and I thought we could "treat" them to PI or one of the water parks with the "valueless" plus features from my sisters ticket. Thanks for any info you can provide.

You are correct. The trade-up value of a ticket is the same whether or not the plusses were consumed.

The plusses are lost if you attempt to trade up the old ticket.

You must purchase the Plus Pack (and also hopping and non-expiration) on an MYW ticket you are trading the Hopper Plus ticket up to.

Only one old ticket can be traded up towards each new ticket purchased.

It is not a good idea to use the last "day" of the old ticket as-is and purchase a new hopping MYW ticket for one fewer day. You may only get three dollars of value of of the last day on the old ticket whereas you may get sixty five dollars of value saving the old ticket for a day tripper further in the future.
