Was having a massive "tidy up and filing" session this afternoon/evening (which is why I am up so late!) and found our "5 Day Hopper Passes" from 2002. I am virtually sure that we had one unused day on them...

So my questions are:
- will the passes still be valid (i.e. can I use that last, unused day?)?
- if so, is how can I discreetly check that they do have a day remaining on them (i.e. don't want to be dragged away in handcuffs because the park staff think that we are trying to get in without paying...)?

Thanks,
Boo

You won't be dragged away in handcuffs. Just slide it through the machine, if there is nothing left the CM will tell you. If you want you can use a new pass and then take the old pass to customer relations in any park and they will be more than happy to tell you what is left. I have nine different passes to have checked next time I go. I know they all have water parks on them, I just don't know about park passes.

Not 100% certain, but whether they are valid or not depends on the type of ticket doesn't it? Not exactly an expert, as we've bought Fun in the sun tickets for a few years (till last year) then had annual passes.
A few years back, when we had a similar dilemma as regards a ticket and days left, we used guest relations at DTD. They were able to scan the ticket and tell us what the situation was.
Haven't a clue what we're going to do this year as regards Disney tickets, we've Universal annual passes thanks to the buy one year, get a second free promotion they are currently offering.

We still have a few days left on our Hoppers from last time & will just use them for our first couple of days.If you are unsure just take them to one of the Ticket centres & they will tell you exactly whats left,I believe they also give you the option of just keeping as is or changing to the equivalent on the new pass scheme. We have also bought the no-expiry option for our 7 day pass this time as we always like to save something for our next trip - can't very well just leave a pass to rot in a drawer so must plan another trip!
