We had been planning a family trip to Disney before our 2 youngest turned 3 and some financial things came into the mix that may prevent us from going. I would really love to make it work, but the only way we could now is probably at Pop Century. Our kids would be 6, almost 3, and almost 2 when we went. The almost 3 year old is a very picky sleeper...the only way I could see it working would be he would be in an inflatable bed in the little closet area behind the curtain, our daughter in the pack n play in the room, and then us in the beds. The 6 year old and I would share a bed, and DH would have his own.
I know the value resorts have small rooms, and DH is already conceding with me if we go as Disney would not be his first choice of vacation. I'm worried if we have sleep issues, we will all be miserable. I'm not worried about the cramped space, we have done it before for this period of time and made it work, wasn't a problem. It's more about sleep.
Any thoughts or suggestions? We could switch to a different vacation but I have almost $1,000 in Disney GCs I would have to get rid of if we did and we have free flights down already.

You know your family best. Since the youngest won't yet be 3 you will still be ok with occupancy limits, so if you think it will work. Do it.

I personally wouldn't want my kid sleeping on a closet floor in a hotel room, but that's just me.

Agree with above poster. Just work on making it a magical trip for you all. Our first onsite I knew I had to make it the best or dh wouldn't want to go back.

I would go for it. Some kids would sleep better alone, even if its on a air mattress. I would be sure to get a pretty good one and would lay a sheet down first and take her own bedding and pillow. We have stayed with three adults and a preschooler in a value room and it really was fine. You might have to get the room quite to get her to sleep but she might be so tired from the day that she will be out like a light too.

I think it could work just fine, especially if they all went swimming before bed. For some reason, that always made my kids tired when they were little :)

I would stay at Bonnet creek so you would have more bedrooms for everyone. I couldn't enjoy a trip where one of my kids were sleeping on the floor outside the bathroom door. Not only would you have more room, it would be cheaper and just as close.

I would have no problem with that. I don't think you will fit a full single blow up mattress in the bath area, see if you can find a crib sized one or a nicer pool blow up mattress.

I think it might be doable for your family, but I hate to ask where you are going to put the stroller? Other than that I would suggest an inexpensive sound machine if your budget allows. Both of my boys (4 and 1.5) use one that I got for under $20 on Amazon and we always bring it when we travel.

We all use sound machines all the time and always travel with them. It can be soooooo helpful to drown out noise. We have had to make an emergency walmart run a couple of times when we forgot ours.

We just stayed at Pop with 5 in October- me,DH, DS8, DD5, DD1. It was tight! I am not sure how you'll fit an air mattress and a pack n play and all of the other stuff that comes with 3 kids (especially stroller). The room feels smaller than a typical hotel room to us. We've had the pack play in a value (Sports) before with 5....but this year we opted not to because the littlest one does ok with us or the big kids in a bed (they have bed rails). That helped with space. I felt like I had to really work at keeping the room organized with so many of us and so much stuff. It worked fine...not ideal. With that said, we are planning our trip for next October and I think we are going to stay there again. We figure we have one more year to stay at a cheaper resort before our littlest turns 3. We considered moving up to a moderate like Caribbean Beach or Port Orleans for the Murphy bed and just a tad more space but when we asked the big kids they said they would rather stay at Pop again. So they liked it! When we crunched all the numbers the extra cost for what we'd get just doesn't seem worth it to us either- we just don't ever end up spending that much time in the room. You know your family best but I think my family ( all of us! ) could sleep just about anywhere after a busy day in the parks! We had a great trip! On a side note.... Disney is not my DH choice for a vacation either... but we've managed to go every year since my oldest was 18 months. There is nothing like experiencing that magic through the eyes of your kids! :)

Thanks guys! Yes, we have a toddler air mattress and the stroller is a double so it would be a tight squeeze....we ended up booking one night at Pop for the Magic Bands and MDE and then we are going to move off property to a little cabin at Tropical Palms. Should end up being about the same price as we were planning on even with needing a car. Thanks again!
