5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Just bumping us up!!

C'Mon cruisers! Let's get this thread moving. It is WAAAYYYY to quiet here. We sail in 6 weeks so we should all be chatting away like crazy here discussing things like the sail away party, Pirate night, Palo, Castaway Cay/Serenity Bay, Formal night, excursions, food, etc.

I started packing today. :cool1: Anyone else as crazy as me?
I'm off from work today so I went through my clothes/shoes/swimsuits and picked out my "cruise wear" & put everything in the suitcase.

For this cruise, DH and I are not really doing Formal. On our last 2 cruises, we went really formal but for this one we are leaving the tux/gown behind. Still not sure what we're doing for Pirate Night. I have our PN costumes from our last cruise so I may just bring them! Who's dressing up for Pirate Night?

Cannot wait for Castaway Cay. For DH & I, Serenity Bay is Heaven on Earth (we are beach people 100%!). We've been to SB 3 times now and it gets better every time we go. DH loves to just lay in a hammock all day long while I prefer to Snorkel. I bring my own equipment and I love it. Snorkeling is one of my most favorite things to do. I just bought a FLIP video camera to take with me on the cruise & I got a waterproof/underwater case for it so I can film while I snorkel!

By me packing today, it makes the cruise seem REALLY REALLY close! (We booked this cruise at least, if not more, than a year ago & I thought it would NEVER get here)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! ::MickeyMo

I'm starting the packing this weekend! Got all the summer clothes out, washed them, etc, so they are ready for packing. Bought the sunblock, extra batteries for the cameras, extra memory cards, extra sunglasses (I typically lose 1 or 2 pair per trip  ) etc. We are not doing the whole "formal" thing either...just cruise casual for the length of the cruise.

Looking forward to seeing all the new stuff at Castaway Cay! The slide is finished, so I'm definitely going to have to test it out ;).

I've been working on fe stuff, and gift bags for my in-laws and our friends who are sailing with us, my husband is concerned I'm going overboard! I'm just worried about space when packing.
I was thinking probably dressy but not formal.
Does anyone know anymore about Ducky Williams being on our cruise? I so hope that's right!!

Try 1 1/2 years ago. You book on the Oct 08 Cruise with us. Do enjoy wish we could be there with you. Lois

I haven't started packing yet, but I guess I should start soon. I will be bringing my own snorkeling equipment. I usually snorkel at the family beach area. I haven't tried it at SB yet. I might just give that a try this time.

I can't wait to try out the new slide! It looks like fun.

I'm glad to see others aren't going all out for formal night.
We don't really have pirate costumes but DH wears a pirate t-shirt and I wear a blouse that looks a little "piratey" and we wear a pirate necklace and watch. On our other cruises, we didn't see too many people get dressed up on pirate night. I do remember that on last year's 3 night cruise, I noticed during dinner a couple wearing full out pirate gear and they looked great...........but this was the night after pirate night......:confused3: Maybe they missed a day somehow???? They still looked great though. pirate:

We don't have any excursions booked. I like to stay on the ship while docked in Nassau. We may get off for just an hour and hang around the market area near the ship. We did venture out during our very first cruise to Nassau and watched an ambulance carry an elderly woman away..........they literally picked her up and carried her to the ambulance and that was enough for us to say..........we are out of here and we headed back to the ship.

We hope to try the Palo brunch. This will be our first time and can't wait.

We have never done any of the late night activities other than going to Diversions for a drink or 2. We hope to try other things this time. I usually take bonine in the afternoon right before the ship leaves and it makes me tired. But this time, I am going to take it at night right before going to bed. I will just have to remember to take it the night before the cruise so it will be in my system. Maybe this way, I can stay up later and enjoy the late night activities.
43 more days and counting!!:yay:

Does anyone know anymore about Ducky Williams being on our cruise? I so hope that's right!!

Speaking of Ducky Williams, has anyone had the joy of meeting him before?
I read that you can pay a fee to have him draw a character for you..........does he draw any Disney character? Would he draw Tigger for us?

Wow, same here. This will be our 5th Disney cruise, and I can honestly say that most people really don't dress up fancy at all. Some do...but very, very few. Either way, everyone has a great time, and that's what's most important. :)

As of now, we're probably staying on the ship while in Nassau, although dh has expressed some interest in going over to Cable Beach for a few hours and checking it out. We'll see, I guess. It will be a game day decision :). We didn't have a very pleasant experience last time we ventured off the ship into Nassau, so I'm leaning towards staying on the Wonder, especially since this will be the last time we'll be on this ship :sad1:

I'd gladly pay for that! I've seen so many threads about him being on cruises & drawing different characters. Can't wait to see him in person. Last year, I bought the "Snow White at Starlight" piece from the Wonder's gift shop (I think it was on sale for 30% off). I do believe it's a Ducky Williams piece.

I think we are going to stay on the ship in Nassau and just relax. We were going to head on over to a beach but have recently decided to explore the Wonder instead. Just relax, relax, relax since we move 3 days after we get back from the cruise! :scared1:

Congratulations!! I remember when we moved....ACK!!! I was in a zombie-like state for about a week afterwards :rotfl:

The pre-move relaxation is definitely a wise choice :thumbsup2.

This is my 3rd Disney Cruise but the longest as the others have been just 3 nights after the 4 days in Disney. We are looking forward to just relaxing. The two days on Castaway Cay was the clincher.

Last time we went on a dolphin excursion in Nassau and it took the whole time and we were exhausted. Staying on the ship sounds very nice. One of the ladies wants to see the straw markets though, so we might have to find them.

We don't go formal, but we are having that be our LBD night (little black dress). Last time we did it and it was so much fun. We are having a mini fashion show get together tonight where we raid a friends closet for attire.

The only extra we signed up for was the Palo's brunch on the day at sea. We didn't really want to miss a night in the restaurant so we thought this would be a nice alternative. I do believe champayne was mentioned also....:thumbsup2

Oh, and I am making Pirate Tshirts for Pirate night and we have our pirate Mickey ears from our last trip compliments of Stedman, a very nice cast member in Disney!!

2 days at CC was the clincher for Chris & I, too! We love Serenity Bay SO much we talk about it all the time. It is truly paradise. That's why we go for the Douple Dip cruises.

Our very first Disney Cruise was 3.5 years ago and it was a 7 night (special Itinerary) with 2 stops at Castaway Cay. We were hooked ever since. We prefer the Double Dip cruises and will probably only go on cruises that offer the 2 stops at CC. :cloud9:

I'm excited to get on the ship and hear that horn! I don't know why but I always tear up a little bit when I hear it. On our last cruise, Chris and I were very fortunate to meet the Captain and he actually let us push the button for the "When you wish upon a star" horn. That was one of the best things we ever did!

This will be our 2nd double dip, but our first 5-night, so we are really looking forward to both days Castaway Cay, plus the day at sea. We really haven't been to too many places, but we also feel like we've found paradise in Castaway Cay. On the few other beaches we've been to, we find ourselves comparing it to Castaway Cay. It's beautiful, clean, and safe. Perfect paradise :)

I haven't "officially" started packing yet, but I've been gathering stuff for months already! Avon has a great deal on their Bug Guard Plus with sunscreen stuff, buy one get one for 99 cents. I'll have to place my order soon.

We are dressing up for formal night. I want to get some nice pictures of my boys in their suits.

The absolute best pictures I have of Chris and I are from our Disney Cruises! We did the Lifestyle Portraits and they are among the best pictures we have ever taken together! (and we've been together 19 years!)

I promised my boys if they would wear their suits, and if they would pose for some nice pictures for me, I would let them do one picture with sun glasses and tough guy looks (a la Men in Black) on the white background.

We are planning on maybe leaving the boat for about an hour at Nassau, but only to go to Del Sol and let my Mother-in-law, step-sister-in-law, and step-nephew see the pushy taxi drivers. I find them funny.

Tim

We're getting pretty excited about the cruise here, too, although we're also in the midst of wedding planning, too. Too much to do.

Since this is our first cruise, we're just looking forward to relaxing and taking everything in. Since our cruise leaves 2 days after the wedding, we will need the relaxation. :)

We decided not to do any shore excursions in Nassau. We've never been before, so we are going to at least get off the boat so we can say we've been-- but I'm sure an hour or two will be enough for us.

We did get Palo reservations for dinner (last night of the cruise was all that was available), but we haven't been able to get a Palo brunch reservation, even logging on at exactly midnight 75 days before the cruise (had to wait until then since we're not yet Castaway Club members.) I'm going to go to the Palo reservation area as soon as it opens on embarkation day and hope we get lucky.

We're not going super formal-- I'm planning on wearing a dress shirt, tie, and dress slacks on both "dress up" and Palo nights. I'm leaving the jacket at home. Sice we're also doing 6 nights at WDW following the cruise, luggage space will be at a premium.

We haven't done any packing, per se, but we did open a suitcase and start gathering up some of the stuff we'll need for the trip-- swimsuits, sunscreen, etc.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on the cruise!
