Now about these "fish extender" things... I understand what they are, but approximately how many people would you guesstimate participate in this activity and does anyone have some examples of items that get shared? Any information is appreciated!

Esh,
Fish extenders are these folder thingys people hang on the fish outside their stateroom door. Sometimes dis groups do a gift exchange kind of like leaving things in stockings like Santa. I am sure someone else could explain it better. Also there are lots of posts detailing how to make them and what you could do.

I don't think there are any plans for a fish extender exchange. We were just keeping a roster of disers. Would anyone want to head that up. I think with all that has gone on, we probably will not be participating in a fish extender exchange.

Just 120 more days for DH and I (we'll be arriving in WDW a few days prior to the cruise)!!!!!

I've started getting some stuff together already. I got some nice, large beach totes at the Disney outlet for $2.00 each. They should be good for lugging stuff to Serenity Bay. Also bought some sunscreen, a new bathing suit, and some new shoes for DH (not at the Disney outlet, lol!!)

5/30 will be here before we know it!!

hey guys, havent posted here in a very, very long time. cant believe the cruise is almost here, and its so sad to see all the people i talked to a long time ago left this cruise . But yeah, im going on our first cruise with me, my mom, dad, little brother and little sister. cant wait.

Wow...when I think about how long ago I started making reservations and plans for this cruise…well…it’s really starting to get close. My DW and I finally feel like we can start to get excited. We were putting things away in the attic the other day from the holidays and she asked me if she should get her suitcase out…she was serious. I laughed and said it’s getting closer, but it’s not that close yet. I’m starting to check in on DISboards now several times a day. Since this will be our first cruise ever, I’m searching the internet for anything and everything I can find related to DCL and our ports of call. I now have my DW addicted to DISboards as well.

The point is, we’re really looking forward to meeting you all and can’t wait to have a great time. This will be a very special vacation for just the two of us. Our kids are both in college now and will be watching the house while we’re gone. Our DD is married to a great very talented kid. Our new son-in-law proposed to her a couple of years ago now on the beach at the WL in WDW. He was doing his internship at Artist Point. He even asked me for her hand before he popped the question. You can see we’re a Disney family and someday we plan on taking the whole tribe on a family cruise…but not this one…not this time! This will be our 29th wedding anniversary on May 30th and we’ll both celebrate our 50th birthdays while we’re underway.

I listen to several Disney stations on LIVE365 while I’m working at my desk all day. My staff thinks I’m crazy…well I am…crazy for my family, and crazy for the mouse! I don’t care; I’m just a big kid at heart…

My older son, Eric (13), has a very mild Autism Spectrum Disorder called Aspbergers Syndrome, as well as ADHD. He is considered, for the most part, "neurotypical" (psychiatrist's fancy word for normal), but is painfully shy at first and has difficulty in social situations. I'm concerned he will not enjoy himself in the teen area but my travel agent has assured me that he will be able to go to the Oceaneer's Lab if he wants to. I think it would be helpful if he had a friend before we even get on board and I was wondering if anyone who reads this and is going on this cruise has a son around Eric's age whom he could communicate with prior to our sailing. (114 days!!!) Or if anyone has any advice for me.

As much as I was looking forward to this cruise, it looks as though I won't be able to sail on May 30. I was just recently diagnosed with lymphoma and am starting chemotherapy on Monday. If everything goes according to plan, my last chemo treatment will finish on May 27, which is a little too close to the cruise. I'd hate to spend that much money on a cruise that I may not completely enjoy. I am going to ask my doctor what I should do in this situation. I may end up trying for the June 8th cruise, but I was looking forward to being on the first 5 day double dip. Looking on the bright side, if I do go on the June 8 cruise, DH will be celebrating his b-day and we will celebrate.................... our actual anniversary is on this very cruise.

I'm in the same boat as you! I'm sitting here, looking out the window at the 20 inches of snow on the ground. Dh and I are really looking forward to Serenity Bay.

...So sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis and upcoming treatments. We will keep you in our prayers and let us know if you do change your cruise date. We will miss you but so glad that you won't be giving up on the cruise thing completely. What a great way to celebrate your anniversary and being through with treatments! Yay!!

time4disney, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. May your treatments go well and hoping for a quick recovery. Hopefully side effects will not be too bad and you will be able to enjoy a restful summer. Wishing you can make the cruise, but would not blame you if you postponed, you want to be strong enough to enjoy !!

Close to 20 inches of snow here in Western PA fri/sat !! School is closed tomorrow, though I am not sure why. The roads are in pretty good shape today. Oh well, DS is sick and would have missed anyway. We have another storm moving in tues/wed only calling for up to 6 inches with this one... I cannot wait for vacation and the summer !! Who am I kidding, I'll be thrilledwith spring !!

time4disney, I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as you endure this trial. While I would love to meet you, you've got to do what is best for you and your family. Focus on getting better and living each day to its fullest.

I'm sitting here this morning looking out of my office window at the snow we just had and thinking about the next storm that's supposed to start this afternoon… I hate winter!!! I hate snow!!! My driveway at home is 100 feet long and 30 feet wide. I clear it with my snow blower …when it works…grrr. I’m not looking forward to this snow again!

Thankfully we have this cruise to look forward to. This is what I’ll be thinking about as I battle through this next storm:

Ahhh…Serenity Bay…sandy beaches…palm trees…crystal clear blue waters…warm ocean breezes…umbrella drinks…hammocks…the adult pool …the spa…open air cabanas with massages…deck chairs…our veranda…Palo’s…time alone with my DW…

Ok…so what am I missing? Give me something to dream about until we hit the runway at MCO.

I’m going to turn on LIVE365 on my computer right now and listen to “Park Hopper Radio”. We’re flying in on Friday so we only have 108 more days to go until we get this shindig started.
