5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

KS DISney Dad..

I don't know what DH, DS stands for..but I think it means Dear Husband, Dear Son..???

But my son will be two years old by that time....I'm sure there won't be that many kids that age on the boat.

So, it's me and my DSF (Son's Father lol) and DS2

I've updated the first post for your changes. I think most people read them the way you have assumed -- Dear Husband, Dear Son, etc. Personally, I prefer to read them as "Disney Son", "Disney Husband", etc.

and also KS DISNEY DAD!! what A cool group pic!!! so hopefully all of us DISers will be dresses as pirates!!! I'm already pricing my pirate suite...what a dork I am.

I see from your signature that you're going to be at MNSSHP this year -- you could get double use from your pirate costume! :thumbsup2

Yes, it was a fun night. I didn't dress up as a pirate for the first two cruises, but we did for this one. There should be a Pirates in the Caribbean night our cruise as well.

My DH and myself just booked this sailing - we were supposed to be on the 5-30-09 7 night western but my father-in-law passed away a few days before.
Talked to a Disney cruise rep this morning and he said that this sailing is pretty full. Only gty available in cat 8! Well, looking forward to meeting all of you by reading through the thread. Got a lot of catching up to do.

Welcome to our group!! It is growing daily. Have fun catching up.

Hi all,

I had a great time in Disneyland week before last and SeaWorld-San Diego last week. Will share some of my favroite photos from the trip as soon as I figure out how to post them.

Welcome to all the new cruise members that have joined while I was gone. :cheer2:

OK, found the information that KSDisneyDad sent me, so I am going to try to post a couple of Disneyland photos. First up is the entrance to the Disneyland Hotel:

Next, is the entrance to Disnelyand. I particularly liked the "Celebration" hat on Mickey. Look closely to see the "strings" that connect to "balloons." Disney's theming is always complete! (I admire it so!)

And, finally, the view from my room. So pretty. It just makes me happy looking at it.

stitch1313,

pics are great.
The pool looks so fun !! We are thinking of a CA trip sometime (DS would flip for legoland), I'd love to hear more about your adventure. Is the Disneyland hotel "on site" like the Grand Californian ?

Love all the photos of CA and FL! I really wish I lived in FL! I would already be up and at the parks for the day! I am sure it will be packed no matter which park you choose, but it would be so fun to be right in the thick of it! We were 2 weeks early for the re-opening of the Hall of Presidents. Wouldn't that be neat to see today? The boys are wanting to go to Universal again. They are teens, that's to be expected! LOL I guess I'll have to settle for a parade in town and some fireworks at the park later tonight. It won't be the Magic Kingdom, but it will be nice, regardless!

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!!

Stars and Stripes Forever...Muppet Style....Enjoy!

Booked our hotel room today for the night of the 29th at CIS. Holy moly batman, $200 total including tax, Cruise and Park package, for the Kids Suite! No AAA discount allowed, no parking without purchase of the cruise and park, regardless of whether we'll be taking the shuttle. A little more than I had wanted to spend but I'm trying to look at it as the equivalent of what it would cost to park at the port and stay in a $100/ night hotel!

Hi Minnie4me,

Yes, the DLH is on site. There are three Disney hotels at DL. There is the DLH (the original), the GC, and Paradise Pier (also very nice - we stayed there when we attended the 50th anniversary of Disneyland back in July 2005).

I had a great time on this trip. Since the pool is one of my favorite things at DLH, I've included some more photos of it.

Here is the entrance to the pool. You have to use your room key to enter the locked gate.

Here is a closer view of the pirate ship.

And here is someone that is very interested in the ship...

I was lucky to be there during the opening of the annual Summer Pin Festival. This year it celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion. There were many wonderful pins and accessories. Many were open edition, but there were also limited editions available to those willing to work for them. I'll tell how, and why, I ended up sitting in the basement of the Little Green Men Store Command later (pretty cool!). As you may have guessed, I am a pretty big pin fan and a Haunted Mansion fan. It could not have been more perfect for me! Here is a photo of the board displaying this year's merchandise at Disney Pin Traders in Downtown Disney the day the event opened.

DSCF1261.jpg

The bag was a pin trading carpet bag that was made of pebbled leather with the Haunted Mansion 40th anniversary logo on front and lined with fabric printed with the bat wallpaper from inside the HM. Inside the bag is a pin case with pages for additional pin storage. The pin case fastens to the inside of the bag, but can also be removed and displayed on its own. It is awesome.

I'll tell more in my next post about the Pixar Play Parade in DCA. In case you didn't know, it features The Incredibles on hovercraft!

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! :wizard:

In our past 3 Disney Cruises, we've stayed at the Radisson and had very good luck by booking the first shuttle to the port - all 3 times were there before the porters started taking the luggage, so boarding pass #2! Plus, no more than a 10min delay when headed back to the Radisson post-cruise. Now, the boards are posting reviews with extremely long waits getting a shuttle back from the port.

My concern with the CIS is that they do not allow you to book the shuttle until you arrive at the hotel. So, will that leave my group on a shuttle later than we want?

We've always checked in and been sitting in the terminal no later than 10:45am.

Everybody must be on vacation. No new posts! Not much happening here. Been over 100 for a month now. This weekend it's supposed to be 115. It' dry heat, tho, lol

we are here! No vacations for us until May 30. It can't come quick enough!!
Our neighbors sailed out of Baltimore on a Carnival Cruise yesterday. My friend and her family are aboard the Magic right now!!!!! I am so envious!!! I get to feed her cats and water her garden. Doesn't seem fair.

Connor took part in a football camp this morning. Jason Rader of the Falcons was born and raised here, so he came back to host a camp. It was the first year for it. Connor really enjoyed it.

Football season starts July 28 and Band starts August 2. Then I will be living out of my truck again!! But it's all worth it!

Not much else to report from here!!

Lisa, I still want to know the story behind the Pixar Parade! What did you do?

Hi Michele -
I have a daughter(15), Ansley, also in Marching Band - camp starts the following week (July 20th) here in Georgia. It's going to be sooo hot for them, but you're right, it's a lot of fun! (She will miss spring marching camp next year while we're on our cruise, but I decided to book the cruise, then ask forgiveness later! :rolleyes1)

Sounds like you had a great time at WDW!

We just got a Segway Tour business here in Havasu. My husband and I did it and since they are new, we were the only ones on the tour. We picked it up right away (I was worried 'cuz I tend to be clutzy) and we were able to get the 2 hr tour in our 1 hr pkg. Lots of fun! It's one of those once in a lifetime experiences you just have to do.

:welcome: I've added you to the first post. Sorry to hear that you had to rebook for such a sad reason. Hopefully this cruise will be more fun than the 7-night!! It's hard to believe the cruise is so full, but I do believe it is one of the least expensive summer cruises next year. I know it would have been a couple thousand more for our two rooms had we gone just two weeks later. :scared1:

I've enjoyed the pictures Lisa (Stitch 1313) and Michele (minnie4me)!

Michele -- Have they done much on the new Harry Potter land at Universal? Also, what's the story on the new roller coaster that's been delayed? Sounds like Universal's version of Test Track!

Lisa -- when we visited DL last year we stayed "off-site" even though we could see the Matterhorn, monorail, Tower of Terror, California Screamin', Soarin' and several other attractions from our hotel room. I wish we could have stayed on-site, but it just wasn't in the budget for us last year as DL was already a huge splurge as it preceded our 15 night cruise making our vacation 20 nights! Staying off-site just wasn't the same.

Also, did you get to see the new Fireworks show at DL with Dumbo flying above the castle? And we look forward to your Pixar Play Parade story and pics!!

No vacation here either. Just normal summer activities. Plus, we've been riding our bikes quite a bit -- about 20 miles yesterday and 25 today. Our weather has finally hit the 90's -- again a dry heat!:lmao:

Our oldest started "voluntary" football practice this past week. He's complaining about being sore!!:rotfl2: My youngest wants to play too but we're not sure if we'll try to find a fall baseball team or football team for him. No band here -- the kids are doing orchestra (hopefully since the school cancelled it last year for budget constraints).

We went to a Rockies' game the other night. I've been to dozens of professional games and this was the first time we actually got a ball. It wasn't a foul ball, but one that was in play. After the out, the first baseman threw it to the batboy and the batboy tossed it to my son!! Pretty exciting for the family.

Being landlocked here in the West, I thought I'd post a picture today from our last cruise with some wildlife in it!!

Howdy all! I wanted to stop in and say hi. I just moved my booked-onboard June 13 double dip to this sailing. I discovered that the cost was over $1000 cheaper for the 3 of us (me and my 2 DDs who will be 8 and 11 at the time of sailing) on May 30 vs. June 13. The sailing is indeed pretty full because I had a Cat. 6 on the other sailing and wanted to keep it, but all that is available on May 30 are Cat. 6 GTYs. Plus main dining is full. I am on the waitlist, but I was thinking of switching to late dining anyway and I will decide on that a bit later.

Can't wait to meet all of you!
