Son - 4 YO
Finally, a full day at the magic kingdom. We decided we were doing well gettign there for the openings as the crowds were the lowest at that point, so we were at MK for the opening as well. They did the big think on the train to open it, but we were in line to get in and couldnt see any of it....oh well, no biggie. Thru research on this board, I knew we needed to beeline for fantasy land first if we wanted to do allt hat stuff. We got fast passed for philharmagic and then got on peter pan. 30 second wait on that ride....I really enjoyed it, but MAN is it dark....hard to see some of the stuff cause it was so dark. My son was already in heaven though....then we headed to dumbo. Agreed my wife will get on with my son and I will take pictures. Well, that is the worst queueing line we experienced....just took FOREVER to get people on the ride and moving...I think they waited 30 minutes to get on it...what is the point of those little colored cards? all that stuff just took unnecessary time. Got some nice pictures though....if a kid goes to disney, its crucial to get a picture on dumbo...we have them of me when I was young and now I have one of him. We rode snow white next....2 minute wait. I was afraid my son would be scared on it, but he loved that ride. then we got in line for the pooh ride...first time on it, I miss toads wild ride though. It was a long line to get on this but we already had fast passes so we couldnt pull them for this. My son loved this one as well....I have the whole ride on videotape and last night he was just in awe watching it again on the tv....somewhere in this time we also rode the merry go round....he loves to "go on the horseys". Then it was time for philharmagic. As became the habit, my son just pretty much closed his eyes. We didnt though and I thought this was the best 3D show of the 4....I really wanted to see it again, but never got the chance. We saw these great tye die donald shirts in the store there and there was a small for my son. We decided to wait on it and maybe buy it later....later it was gone in his size and on backorder for a month. Thats when we learned to grab something if we found something we liked. and grab it quick.
we went down to the country bears and the show as about to start....blood on the saddle....I can remember this as a kid....I think its neat that its the original show. My son liked it alot, especially the moose on the wall. I mentioned that we should eat at pecos bills for lunch and the country bears dumped us right into line for food, that that worked perfect. The burgers were great.
we headed to adventure land to see if there was something we wanted to ride and it had gotten REAL crowded....we had decided if we werent having fun at any time during the trip, we would do something different, so we started toward the gate to go rest awile...no reason getting all worked up and frustrated, right? Main street was like a ghost town...strange since the ride portions of the park were incredibly crowded. We were all wearing the same outfit that day....a hawaiin type mickey mouse shirt...me and my son had the same shirt on with beige shorts and my wife had a dress of the same print. So she grabbed one o fthe camera men to take our picture on main street in the getups. we bought the pictures later in the day....so good, especially with my son wearing my mickey ears with his name on them. They took a picture of him with his hands out at one point and when we looked at the pics tinkerbell was in his hands....we bought that one too.
we left after the pic and went back tot he room. I opted out of a nap at that point...but my son didnt. My wife and I had some "alone" time for awhile then we headed back to MK. what a difference a couple hours makes....it was soo much easier to handle. We got fast passes for the jungle cruise, rode pirates, watched the tiki room, rode the magic carpets....all with much less crowds. The CM running our boat on the jungle cruise had joke after joke during hte ride...he was a riot. We ate at columbia harbour house.....downstairs there was not a table to be found, so we headed upstairs with the food. This has to be the best secret in WDW. there was NOONE up there....and there are TONS of tables along with a condiment table up there. It was a nice break from crowds in the air conditioning. Keep it to yourselves, its a great secret.
I cannot remember the order we did the rides, but we hit most of what we wanted to. we went to toontown late and did barnstormer with my son loved and then went into mickeys house and got great pics with mickey with no lines.....late night is the time to get to toon town.
we watched wishes betweent he castle and tomorrowland. the fireworks didnt line up with the castle like it probably does from main street, but it was a great show nonethe less....we SLOWLY left the park to let the crowds go ahead of us. Then we discovered the split the POR and POFQ buses at MK....we got on the first bus that came with no problems.
Great day at MK and got most everything done with the exception of the big rides (space mtn, splash, BTMRR)....but son didnt want to go on those, so....
