We flew southwest down. I was panicing over the lack of assigned seats for months. Then I found out we get to preboard with a 4 YO anyway. That was great, we were actually the first ones to board and found a great spot so my son could watch out the window. The flight was painless...left on time, arrived on time. My sons first trip on a commercial flight and he kept looking out the window saying "look, it looks like a big map down there". He enjoyed it for awhile then got restless. So we whipped out the laptop and earphones and he watched a bugs life the rest of the way. That laptop proved invaluable this trip.
our towncar was there, we used tiffany towncars and I have no complaints. Omar was our driver. He doesnt talk much, but then again, neither do I. uneventful transfer. He did say there were lots of folks checking into resorts, but when I got to POFQ, I was third in line to check in...we were off to our room within about 15 minutes.
everything was moving along perfectly.
we had a PS at O'Hanas to kick off the vacation. We had not really eaten ANYTHING all day, with the exception of an expensive cinnabon at the airport. The food here was TOP NOTCH, very tasty and a very fun environment. Unfortunately, I inhaled way, WAY too much food and it left me sick to my stomach all the way thru the next day. It did stop me from eating too much the rest of the trip though. My son did the coconut races and the hula hooping, we got some great pics of that.
after dinner we went to MK for awhile to give my son a taste of what he was in for all week. Well, words cannot even DESCRIBE how crowded it was that night.....you could barely move thru the park. We ended up fast passing buzz lightyear and going in the haunted mansion. Our plan was to stay for wishes, but we ended up watching spectromagic and leaving. Couldnt take the crowd anymore and knew we had more chances to see wishes later in the trip.
back to the room and passed out almost immediately.
