well, hello everyone.
we got the kids up this morning and headedout for star wars weekend #2. We are the beach club, so it is a nice short drive to the hollywood studios. We left here about 6. Last weekend, earlier than this, when you got over there they had everyone out parking cars and so on. This time nobody. They didn't even have the sign up that said cast member parking only. So we parked pretty much up front.
But the crowd was there. OK, our goal today was Anthony Daniels. I have mixed feelings about that, and I did then, but the kids wanted to see him. So we all four were in that line, we weren't that far back - the biggest lines at about 6:30 were Dee Bradly Baker and Bruce Spence. I'm sure that those two and Anthony Daniels were down to standby at the most by the time they started the fast pass lines.
Here are the FP lines-
There weren't really any less people than last weekend, but a whole lot less cast members and organization. Nobody even held up the signs for the lines until maybe 8. And they didn't really open early. Guests that were waiting for just the regular gates entrance, like going to tsm or whatever, started showing up by 7. The park was supposed to open at 9, and they pretty much stuck to it. They opened the turnstiles about 8:30-ish, but then had the rope drops sort of like a regular studios morning, but it was different, because there wasn't the usual opening show and it was staggered, so that the star tours crowd went first, then the toy story crowd (with a few rnrc people weaving out). They dropped the rope about 8:45 (I heard later that the jedi training spots were all filled by 9:05). We got our four fast passes for Anthony Daniels and headed to TSM.
Because the drop drop crowd was split between star tours and TSM it seemed a little more chaotic than usual, they weren't as good at control and more people tried to run. I got fp's for 9:25 and we rode once standby. Totally different from last weekend when it was so open. This was the usual mayhem.
SO it was not like last weekend. There was a big crowd there waiting for the park to open, and it didn't really open early.
After that 1st toy story ride, we went to see some dark side characters. One thing you should know. Every printed thing says that dark side characters start at 9. That is only Darth Vader. Boba and Jango Fett (alternating every 20 minutes) start at 9:25. Darth Maul started at 10:25.
And then we went over to Darth Maul. MH has a thing for the dark side characters, and it sort of really worries me for when she is a teenager.
We played in the shrunk the bugs life playground for a while. At some point in there I had went over and gotten fast passes for star tours with a 12:30 return; our Anthony Daniels fp's were 10:40, so after Darth Maul it was time to go see him.
MH wanted to go see the Disney Jr. show and play the paint game in the animation bldg., so we ran into Piglet standing there.
And a couple of chipmunks
And a mouse.
Then we went back and used the TSM fp's. Then Melissa took Holden to use the star tours fp's - MH isn't tall enough, so they rode it a couple of times. MH wanted to go back to the playground.
On the way back from there the dark side characters were roaming so MH was loving that.
By then it was starting to get afternoon and we were worried about rain, so we left the park about 2 and went to have some late lunch.

She's little, but she's a handful!
