Congratulations!!!

So is Matt satisfied with the completed job?

We are "still" waiting for DD to clean her room so I can do the same thing.

I might not have to worry about it until we move!

Matt is not done with his part of the job. He is moving his stuff back from the pool house to his bed room. I would throw half of it away, but not him. He wants to keep it. Oh well, it is his room!

It is refreshing to hear that is it not just my DS and DD. They appear to be quite normal from this board. Having to use a fork lisf would also fit here.

Of course, DW and DD could not join us because they have something going with gymnastics tonight.

Her annual banquet. She was voted by her teammates as the gymnast with the "Best Attitude" and she won the Coach's award which was only given to one Optional (Level 7- 10) Gymnast. She is VERY happy. She was sure one of the older (high school) higher level gymnasts would win the coach's award. Yea for Lisa :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4:

Jim, it's a relief to know that your kids have this normal trait. You know, you had us thinking that they were Stepford kids.

Yay for Lisa! I can see her having the "Best Attitude".

We've all seen the devastating pictures from last month's tsunami, but I came across some satelite images you may not have seen. They show before and after pictures of the landscapes from space. They also show satelite images of the receding tide prior to the tsunami. Here's the link:

Be sure to use the BEFORE and AFTER buttons as well as the PREV and NEXT buttons.

For those interested, the Discovery Channel has been airing some interesting documentaries. Two of them "Mega-Tsunamis" and "The Next Wave: Science of Tsunamis" talk about the potential of an even bigger Tsunami coming across the Atlantic Ocean and devastating the Atlantic coast of the US from Boston to Miami. (Because of a volcanic island off the coast of africa with a HUGE mountainous shelf of rock that could fall into the ocean. A similar event happened to Alaska causing a 450 foot high wave (no kidding!). Last months Tsunamis were only 30 foot high).

Scarey stuff

Congratulations Scubamom and your daughter for winning an award. That is awesome. Earlier this year, my 10 yo daughter was named Swimmer of the Meet. They pick someone from each meet that displays the best attitude, has a strong work ethic in practice, swims hard at the meet (usually improving on their times, not necessarily winning) and cheers on their team mates. She was so thrilled that she won (they give them the team trophy from the meet). I think it is great for the kids to receive those type of awards because it shows them that hard work and sportsmanship pays off.

Great job!

That is VERY dismal!!

We have all heard the stories, but like the saying goes; A picture tells a thousand words......

My condolances to all affected.

Diana - what didnt' you guys like about Celebrity?

Mary, I went back to try and find my long post on the 12/18/04 thread when we got back from the Celebrity Cruise in Dec. '03. Boards were too slow. In a nutshell: we were on the Celebrity Horizon, the oldest ship in the fleet. Cabins were kind of depressing, entertainment was abysmal, kid's program was worse, on board activities consisted of art auctions, casino, and trivia games. Long waits to embark and disembark. Rough seas and wind meant limited deck activities. Good things: the food was pretty good, and there was lots of it available, service was good though impersonal, and we had some fun in the ports. It just really made us look forward to our DCL cruise!

I have to agree with my DW. Celebrity wasn't terrible, just not Disney.

Where is Amanda????

Girl this is your BIG chance.....
