Are we talking Saba.............?

In Nov we are in St. Maarten from 8 am to 5:30 PM so I won't be able to pull it off especially since DS won't be with me. The only chance I have ever had is the "for the children" excuse, something like the Manatee dive.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Wednesday! Snow is falling here in Chicago!

Karen & Mike are you in the path or are you far enough South that you'll get more rain?

A few questions for the group. The 12/18 cruisers know this but the rest of you might not. Back when we started the 12/18 thread I started up a monthly newsletter to get to know everyone. It was a lot of fun but also quite frankly a lot of work so I'm not really up to a monthly commitement like that again. One of the off shoots of the newsletter was a photo gallery of who was cruising. I'd be happy to do that again - in fact I have one started for the Member Cruise.

Would you guys be interested in that? I'm thinking we could do it a little different than we did before and list birthdays and anniversaries on the page as well. One other thing I think I would change is making it password protected. The password seemed to cause most people a hassle and we really didn't give out much personal info.

I don't want to take away anything from the list Amanda has already started. In fact gaRry kept a list on the thread for our 12/18 group while I kept the list for the newsletter. Kind of kept us in check.

Also and this is for much closer to the cruise - did the mini-navigators work? If so I'll be happy to do them again. If not I won't.

So I'd love to hear feedback from everyone on if they would like to see this. If so I can get it up and running in the next couple of weeks.

For those of you who are interested here is the link to the one from the 12/18 cruise. Photo Gallery

Lots of younger kids on this cruise...that's great! Perhaps we won't have any "teen troubles"!!

This is the perfect time to cruise. We went at this same time on our first cruise, and the ship wasn't crowded at all. But with this being another kind of "special" cruise, maybe it will sell out.
I wish it were this May, and not next!

I was wondering about the weather at this time of year. My Passporter has rainfall totals as pretty high for June. I hope we have nice weather! I hope the ships not too crowded. I'll be perfectly happy with my cat. 8 but am hoping to upgrade to a verandah at the port or maybe even be lucky enough to get a free upgrade (but I'm not holding my breath!)

I too wish it wish our cruise was this year & not next!!!

I liked the photo gallery. It was very helpful to put a face to our screen names during the 17 months of chatting. It helped to visualize. I also enjoyed seeing the pictures of the pre-meets.

The Mini-nav was great. We used it a lot to keep track of what DIS had going and to know who was where. Things changed on the ship and being able to pick up the Mini-nav and get a name and room number was a great help.

Skip the password. The information you are posting is not confidential and can be found on the web. Afterall, Kikipug tracked us down (stalked us) :smooth: :moped:

If you have to give up something, give up the newsletter.

What made 12/18 great was the amount of pre-work many people put into it.

I like Amanada's list, especially the comments in white, and hope she keeps that up.

Now it is back to work time.

All of you folks that live up north need to move down south. We're enjoying almost 70 degree temps this week here in Atlanta. This weather is crazy but I'm loving it! I'm a southern girl through & through and can't stand the cold!

It is the Carribean so there will be rain, but it should be the afternoon variety. Just a short heavy rain the afternoon and than done.

Personally, I am thinking this one will be a full ship because of it being over Memorial day weekend and being the first double scoop. I hope I am wrong, but think the recent price increase might be a sign.

OHIO SUNWATCH UPDATE

Okay, It's now been SIX days since I last saw the sun. It started raining again this evening and it isn't supposed to stop until sometime Thursday. :

You really need to consider becoming FLORIDAMICKEY & FLORIDAMINNIE instead!!! The sun is shining brightly at 8:24AM, and its expected to be a lovely 80 degrees all week.

P.S. There is a shortage of quality medical professionals on the central East Coast of FL... I am sure you would have no problem keeping yourself busy- and not half as many runny noses and ear infections!

If you are listed in the local telephone directory, it can't be called stalking... :D C'mon- I haven't walked by your house on my nightly walks... although once I build my miles back up at night (when its lighter out), I'll be back in your neighborhood again. (Can only walk the loop in mine so many times without getting bored.) :bored:

I realize the newsletter is a lot of work and appreciate your positon on not doing it. However, the gallery helps us all put a face with a name and the special dates are a great idea.

I also really enjoyed the mini navigator. The information gave us helped us stay in touch and make plans with our DIS friends.

My vote would be yes!

Well, now that I'm in from it I can say what we got overnight wasn't rain and not-quite-snow. I'd guess a inch or two. Too crunchy to really be called snow fully. But glad I went and made a pass with the snowthrower now, it'd be all hard ice by tonight for sure.

I have to say a teeny bit, considering the winters we've had here the last few, I've missed having snow.

Mary, I LOVED and appreciated all you did to make this cruise so much more special!! I think that it wasn't only this thread, but everything you and Mark did that was the icing on the cake to make this the best cruise ever!! And all the things Virgil did, and Stacey did, and Jim did...etc etc...I could go on and on!

Personally, I'd love for you to do everything again, but I do know what strain that caused and how you couldn't get around to the things you wanted to do for yourself. If I had to rank the importance of things that helped me on the last cruise, I'd say buttons (because I'm so bad with names/faces), mini-navigators so I could drop love notes on some of your doors, and then the newsletter/photo gallery. The newsletter was great, don't get me wrong, it was just hard for me to get a bearing on it (like port information) b/c I didn't have a reference point....I should go back and read them now....they'll make a lot more sense! :)

Hope this is the kind of feedback you were looking for. And remember an important word: DELEGATE! :)

You do know this isn't helpful, right?

We could move down to FL right now....but the job change and most likely significant drop in pay, would mean we couldn't go on cruises, couldn't go to Disney and would probably have to sell our DVC. But other than those things we'd be living large ;)

Someday....someday...

In the meantime it continues to pour rain here, the sump pump cycles every 60 seconds or so, the back patio is flooded (which means water drips into our basement through them main electrical line---that's not good, right Kevin?)and our yard now has a pond (which the Beast found and played in!)
Oh, and if THAT isn't bad enough....it's 37 degrees!

Sticking my fingers in my ears.....la la la la la la la la I CAN'T HEAR YOU....la la la la....

uh...oh, this is a computer screen....

Sticking my fingers in my eyes.....ow ow ow ow ow ow ow I CAN'T SEE YOU....ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

Amen to that. If it's going to be cold....give me snow. If this was 10 inches of snow I wouldn't be as blah, but rain rain rain rain rain is just awful!

Ppl tell me they couldn't live in Florida b/c they like the change of seasons. I'm starting to realize Ohio's seasons.....it's not spring---summer---fall----winter, it's rainy---a bit warm---more rainy---cold rainy.

A beautiful BOP setting up someone for the TOP!

Seasons DO change in Florida... its just that none of them include that booger-freezing weather that makes the Northeast and Midwest so unbearable in the winter.

(Sorry for being gross, but there's just no other way to describe it!)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I completely understand what you're saying! Although I don't particularly mind that weather (at least for awhile, couldn't do it ALL winter)...

It's this depressing rain..... :umbrella:

I thought maybe I could fake some mental illness symptoms and get my doctor to prescribe a move to FL! :) (ok, ok, i hear ya all that my faking symptoms wouldn't be that far from the truth!) ;)

That's how we ended up here... DH's MD said that it would be a good idea, considering that Seasonal Depression was a very real disorder in our home!!!

Right, that's exactly why I said this. I knew it had happened to you. I'm lookin' for any excuse now. :)

Although I know, financially, school wise, family wise, it's not possible right now...I can always dream.

In the meantime I guess I'll have to make the best of a very wet situation. :umbrella:
