We booked for 5/27/06 and this will be our first DCL cruise :Pinkbounc I've been talking about one for months and when my husband came home from being out of town I just said we were going. Got a Cat 8 #7014 for $3359, 2 adults and 1 child. My son will be 9 by then. I have no idea how I'm to last that long.

Our little group is slowly going :-) I am hoping that I can get a better rebooking deal while on board in a few weeks.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I just got off the phone with DCL to price the 10 day dec 16 2006 sailing. Uhm yeah right for 2 10s it was 12,7xx.xx A LOT out of my league.

Welcome km2all! :)

If you have your reservation with DCL you may want to think about contacting Dana at micdan.com. We originally had a cat 8 for 2 adults and 1 child, my daughter will be 9 then also and the price for us was $3067.00 When changed our cabin to a cat 10 to get connecting rooms when my parents decided to join us.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! Getting ready for to head down to the MNNSHP in less than 2 weeks can't wait.

I sent in a quote request with micdan and never heard back from them. I received two other quotes which were exactly the same except DU is offering a $100 instant rebate, so that is who I went with. I definitely figured out fast not to book with DCL as everyone else was cheaper..:earseek:

Sorry km2all that Dana didn't get back to you. She really was the cheapest that we found and was real easy to work with.

KM I am sorry about Dana. I am sure that she has been swamped!
Welcome aborad all the new families that will be sailing with us.
I hope the price for this cruise hasnt gone up too much, I am really hoping to get a great deal on board next month! Keep your fingers crossed for me, please.

First time cruisers ... myself, DH, and 2 DDs (5 & 3 at time of sailing). I can't wait! Now I've got to go reset my counter.

Oh ... thanks to these boards I checked out micdan.com and requested a quote from them as well as DU and Small Word Vacations. Dana sent a follow-up email requesting the ages of DDs but then I never heard back from her. So, this morning I decided to give her a call. She apologized and said she hadn't gotten my email reply and that she'd have a quote for me within an hour. She beat DU and SWV. She was so nice.

Now I've got lots of waiting!

RAC has been on my back to post. We met on these boards prior to our cruise in 2001 (was it that long ago?). Anyway, me, DH and twin DDs (age 8, almost 9 when cruising) can't wait. We've done the Eastern and the 4 night so we're excited for the Western. My DDs are so excited about 2 stops in Castaway Cay....their favorite place on earth!:sunny:

Hey, Cajungirl....we're from Alpharetta too!

I was getting heavy wasn't I!::yes:: I am so glad you finally came. It is going to be nice to have you and the nice people here on these boards to count down these 500 and what ever days we have to go! Talk to you soon, doubletroublemom! :)

yay! new people! cajun girl i am glad u gave dana a call!!!!!!!!! isnt she the best?

Looks like there will be a few of us from GA on the cruise.

I booked a cat 8 ... 7012 ... I was really hoping to book a cat 6 but DH & I just couldn't justify the extra money ... could afford it but couldn't justify it. Please tell me I'll be happy with this stateroom.

Dana saved me a little over $300 off the DCL price. She assured me I'd be happy with a cat 8 .. just need a little reassurance.

I wish that counter would count down a little faster ... I'm so looking forward to some fun in the sun!

Do you drive or fly? Our plan is to drive. DD's last day of school will be on Fri., May 26 so I figured that we could leave that evening and drive to some 1/2 way point. Would that be Valdosta? Then we could drive the remainder the following morning. Does that work?

We'll be on this cruise! We changed our Feb 2005 (booked over a year ago- so the wait continues.. LOL) to May 27th, 2006! We were on a waitlist for secret porthole rooms but didn't get it. (wah)
I just got my info (a month later- and had to ask for it I might add) from allseastravel and I'm not happy with the rooms they got us. They have us booked for the rooms we originally were stuck with (for about a day) when we booked Feb 2005 and they are listed as noisy rooms so I had immediately changed the rooms (cat 9, deck 2, 2622/2624). But they didn't get us those rooms for this cruise- they got us the 2594/2596 rooms! I'm hoping they can change that but I'm not holding my breath on it- since it's been a MONTH. I'm not pleased.. this is why I kept contacting them asking for the info, asking why I hadn't received it in the mail yet nor an email, etc. (this was handled by phone changing the cruise dates and all that) I was worried something like this would happen! :(

We're still on the waitlist for secret porthole rooms but I know that's not going to come open. LOL

I'm crossing my fingers we don't end up in the noisy rooms -but we'll be on this cruise! :)

Oh and we're confirmed for late dining... and our kids ages at that time will be: daughter just turned 12yrs, son 8yrs, daughter almost 6yrs.

Hey everyone. I can't believe that there is a cruise thread this far out for our 5/27/06 cruise! Glad to see that I'm not the only one excited about going. This will be our 2nd cruise for me, DH and DS(will be 11 in 2006). We stayed in a Cat 11 before (6/5/04) and have splurged for at Cat 7 this time...cabin 7122! We went with our DU quote, as micdan never returned my call (I left 3 messages). Perhaps I should try e-mailing them just to see what their quote would be. Can't wait to meet everyone. We're not telling our son about this cruise. I'd love to keep it a secret until our drive down, but it will probably slip sometime because I'm so EXCITED!

We drive down, no need to fly, it is only 400 miles...less than an 8 hour shift at work! LOL Where abouts in GA are you?
