That is so scary. I'm thankful that it wasn't worse, and VERY thankful that there were so many people who came rushing to help you. That's wonderful!!

Ok I decided that should try to make another door sign with the wording that Irene liked.

Did you hear the news? We're on our 1st Magical Disney Cruise.

Now I need some help being creative & finding images. I was thinking of either trying to find an image with Mickey (or another character) with his/her hand to his/her ear or doing some sort of newspaper looking sign. Any ideas on where to find those sort of graphics? Anyone better at googling than I am????

Maybe I am just being paranoid, but is anyone else concerned about putting their last name on a door sign. I would be worried about someone being able to then go down to the front desk and say "I am Mr. Smith from Cabin 7546 and I just locked my card-key in the room"

Again, maybe I am just too paranoid!!

They make you show photo ID - if you don't have it they escort you to the room and you have to show it to them there. We've always put our name on it.... doesn't make it right - just what we've done. Do what you feel comfortable with....

I am the same way! We had tshirts made up for the trip with our other large group that is going. Most everyone had their real names put on the back, but I couldn't do it. My kids are too young and I am too afraid that someone would try to "lure" them away (even on a Disney cruise). I'd rather be safe than VERY sorry.

Hope all is going to be okay. Know the feeling well as do most of us with kids at one time or another. Calm down Mom and breath. All will be better tomorrow. What kind of ride was this? My two have had some crazy trips to ER too. We have son sliding on new kitchen floor in sock feet who proceeds to slide into window sill with his throat. Just moved to new town and hospital was 30 miles away. DD following uncle in shop and runs head first into a vice. Concussion you bet. Now we have to visit Grandma in WV three weeks later and bruised but better. No way falls out of the back of pickup face first onto side walk. I threatened to put bubble wrap around them.

My non-life-threatening ER story is Katie spliting her head open on the wall corner of our house in Durham. Of course, DH was TDY! The worst part was the "cocoon" thing they wrapped her up in to do the stitches. I was horrified by that experience. One of us needed sedation!

No plans at all for Mother's Day here. Unless someone surprises me, which I doubt. My mom is in Nebraska, so I don't even have the "excuse" to celebrate by taking her out.
Besides, my day has always been overshadowed by giving birth to a baby right at Mother's Day.

My sister was born on Mothers day too, this year it falls on Saturday so they are spending the day together, I have DS baseball team party at 12.30, his game at 3pm and the Family fun night at the fields at 5pm and DD Jazz recital at 7pm.
Then Sunday starts, Hebrew school, Gymnastics Jamboree, visit my mom and maybe make har some cheese cake - her favorite.

Ah, yes....The "Papoose" they call it. The thing is wonderful. Nothing worse than a kid squirming and grabbing at you when you are coming at it with sharp things. Used it many a times while putting in IV's in babies. LOOKS horrible, but without it it would look worse!

Our only non-life threatening ER visit with the kids was when KT put a piece of corn up her nose. Very deeply up her nose.

I have had a similar sit. Not fun. Aggravating how calm you can be until it happens to YOUR CHILD! Have a (stiff) drink and a long soak and a good night's sleep. Don't forget to say a prayer for the kindness of strangers. (especially those with strong arms and a long walk!)

I am finished with my burst posting for now! You are all safe until tomorrow when it will officially be two weeks until my fam and I leave for the cruise! YaHOOO!

I only have to make it through 3 1/2 more days with my students! (Sorry, OM, I know you don't get a break from yours.)

They had just build a brand new elementary school here when ds started attending 3 years ago. They have already run out of classrooms when they ended up having 60 4th graders and only 2 classes. They added a teacher, but had trouble finding space for another room! Who's planning these schools, anyway .

Our school is more than double capacity, all our 4th and 5th grades are in portables along with ESOL etc, we even have teachers who have no class rooms and use a wheeled trolley to give there lessons in the cafetaria, they were supposed to start additions to the school to be ready for fall but that hasn't happened and everyone is upset that our kids are getting the raw end of the deal!!!!!!
