Why is it that whenever I have time to post and play with yall no one is around?!?!?!

Hi All - I forgot to get the dr form for the handi room on Magic. Oops! Will mail it to the dr office in the am.

Amanda - Weather here is GREAT! Rainy and mid 70's. Our normal low is about 50 at night but it has been in the 60's. We are all excited about the rain for our wells.

Some days just don't go as planned. I was going to run a few errands, then get lots of work done here since my family is out of town. In the middle of errands, my SIL called. My nephew, who will be 17 later this month, was in a skateboarding accident yesterday after school. He hadn't skated in quite a while, since he's a star high school baseball player, but for some reason he decided to get on a longboard and head down a very long hill with just his sunglasses on his head. He got up to about 30 mph and decided to turn into a driveway rather than go through a busy street, since he couldn't stop. Yep, he fell, knocked himself out and went into convulsions. The sunglasses mangled up his face pretty much. He spent last night in the hospital, and will stay tonight. No surgery yet, but they are watching a "blossom" on the right side of his head. If this kid survives his teen years, his parents might not make it. Can you say impulsive?

Anyway, went and got my 12 year old niece, home alone, and took her to eat and to a movie. Tried to convince my SIL to nap before she headed back to the hospital, I hope she will. We went and got his car, parked at the top of that hill.

Spoke to Kevin & Alicia. Alicia and her little niece are already thick as thieves, and the little one is slowly warming up to Kevin. Sounds like they're enjoying themselves, something was said about dinner at a Crab Shack and a Rennaissance Fair.

Amanda - Can you 'splain the pass along/around game again, please. Sounds like fun.

Sue

sure.....who ever is interested would pm me their address....then we would decide on a theme, for example....fall break or thanksgiving or valetines or papmer yourself... I would pm you back a name, (like secret santa...)etc etc then we set a dollar limit....usually $10 AND WE SHOP FOR OUR BUDDY:flower:

Bummer Diana, I hope your nephew heals quickly. I know it wasn't funny about his parents making it, sure did make me chuckle though.

On the 10 night cruise we did an ornament exchange that my Mom loved. It was lots of fun. I know Jeanne will 'play' too.

Something just crashed out in the woods. Guess a tree came down. I hope it wasn't across the driveway!

She probably had a 'teacher duty day' today like the rest of the state... she MAY have gone into hiding after that!

Hey guys....Stacey's post got me thinking...hmm would anyone be up for a pre cruise swap? Like what they have on the CB?? I would be willing to host it...basically, if you are not familiar, we pick a theme ( fall, socks, ornaments, etc etc) and a $$ limit and send it off to an assigned fellow blabbermouth and they will have sent something to someone else? I think ti would be fun, but let me know what yall think :-)

I assume swapping kids would be out...We've tried to swap them before, it hasn't worked...

And I'm definitely not swapping one of my kids for Stacey's peeing cat!!!!

I am either going to pull out all of my hair or turn to alcohol with this girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has gotten to the point where I just feel like, well if you dont care then I dont care. I know that is childish, but I am at my wits end. How can I get this child to do her homework? I have bought her an assg pad to keep track of her work, she doesn't use it. I keep getting notes from her teacher about her lack of homework........How can I make her do her homework when I dont know she has it? I wrote a long letter to the teacher asking for her help. I told her that Taylro has innattentive ADD and needs help staying ontask..I asked her to make sure Taylor writes the work down and get her to initial it...she wrote back saying that she would do that for a week or two, but she expected Taylor to bring it to her on her own after that??? That is the problem now, Taylor does not follow it through..She is in the 3rd grade. She is very smart. When she does do the work she gets A's and B's.....I dont know what to do. THe teacher has requested a conference with me..and I am a little irritated with her as well. Why wont she help my child?

Glad they made it safe and sound - it's a beautiful weekend here, mid 70s during the day...Forgot it was Rennaisance Fair time...Air show is also this weekend, if they decide to go - have them e-mail me. Our house is directly behind the air field. They can park in our driveway and watch the show from the back side of the runway...

Totally forgot that after I picked up the kids, I had to take Jordan to her friend's house and Jared to get his new spare pair of glasses. We had them send his original pair for new lenses, they got pretty scratched when he passed out. Just got home and now it's time for Jay's softball games.

Diana, how awful! I'll be sending prayers for your nephew and for your brother and SIL. Darn these kids! You are right, if we survive raising them, it's a bloody miracle.

Still trying to figure out that ...thing....the Treo. Me and my bright ideas.... I may have to resort to reading the instructions. I think I heard Kevin say "Instructions...we don't need no stinkin' instructions!" ;)

Okay...outta here....if I figure it out, I'll post from the games!

If anyone else is interested in the swap please PM your address and t he names if anyone in your family who would like a swap buddy. We will work out a theme and cut off date later. Once I see if there is actually any interest....

Not to worry! :rotfl: I'd get rid of the kids long before I would have gotten rid of my kitty.....but she passed away quite a while ago. There IS a little dog, though.....:scratchin

That stinks. Our elementary school kids have an 'agenda' planner that's given to them by the school district... they are required to write all assignments in it and have it signed by a parent every night. It works! Obviously, you are trying to help her... unfortunately, the teacher isn't trying as hard as you are. Granted, she's got a roomful, but at least with you, she's got a parent willing to do their part too!!!!

Maybe tell Taylor no homework no cruise??? (Oh wait... that might belong on the Bad Mother thread on the CB)

she doesnt know about the cruise...The thing about her is that she has no fear of consequences..It is like it makes no difference to her...
