Amanda -- so far no. They are going to take volunteers first before sending anyone else. thanks for asking. For the last four years, he has done shift work. Last week they put him in a new position where he works M-F, 8-4. It is so nice to have him home in the evenings. There will still be an occassional odd shift, just not so much.

We were enjoying a nice family dinner tonight together, when Ashley dropped her dinner plate and it shattered everywhere and cut her finger. The bad thing is that I had to pick her up from school today at lunch, because the school nurse called and said she thought she had fractured her wrist at PE. Well, after a long afternoon waiting at the doctor and going through x-rays, we found that it is just badly sprained, bruised and scraped. She just has to keep it wrapped and wear a splint to school. She will have to lay off swimming all week and she is not happy about that. We have our first swim meet of the season in less than 4 weeks.

Oh well, just another crazy evening in our house.

Stacey...I'm a little late, but so glad that Jared is OK. Some good news is always nice to hear. It's so scary when one of your kids is sick and you can't diagnose it.

Construction update: All cabinets are in and crown molding is being done. Wow..it looks beautiful. I had all kinds of trade people here today. Granite people came and did their template, carpenter did the crown molding, flooring came and striped the old hardwood floor(white oak) and put 1 coat of polyurethane. There was always rug on these floors. We're only the 2nd owner and we will be here 11 years Oct. 5th. It looks greatbut smells like paint thinner!! People get high off this stuff? What are they crazy? All it gives me is a headache. I'll keep you posted on further developments.

She probably dropped her plate because of the injured wrist, poor thing!
Maybe a week off from swimming won't be a bad thing. I used to do better in the meets if I hadn't worked out in a while...don't know why. Just be sure she's walking and keeping her lungs strong...I'm sure you knew that though.

It never ends with kids, does it? I cringe every time I see the caller ID has the school's number on it.

I hope Ashley heals fast!! :wizard:

Thanks, Maria...it's never too late!
How exciting for you! I remember how nice it was when all of the "pretty stuff" started being installed, and the house started to look like a home again. How wonderful!
We were at a friend's new restaurant the other night, and they had just put the final coat of polyurethane on the floor. I'm with you...it stunk! I had the same thought, too....how could someone sniff that stuff on purpose?? ICK!

Hey Amanda!! We've been anxiously awaiting those pictures! Can't wait to see them.....:Pinkbounc

I am just having more and more fun learning new things with the computer!

I could play with the new smilies all night!

Nobody to talk to, may as well entertain myself!

It's finally cooling off a little here. And....I only paid $2.99 a gallon for gas today!!

Let's see how many of our names they have on there....

FRAN.....they didn't have a "Fran" !!

Who did I miss? I started to fall asleep half way through.....that's fun, though.

Won't take nearly as long to do our posting "guys"...

And I thought this was funny....here at home, Jay only uses the initial "J".... They have just a "J" !!!

Watch out....Stacey is starting to get dangerous with the computer! Next thing we know she will be programming her VCR/DVD. :sunny:

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Finally had a good nights sleep. Still coughing but I think the worst is behind me so off to work I go.

Amanda - love the pictures. Looks like a fun time was had by all. You sure did get to meet a lot of "characters". I like the shot of Goofy's crotch. :rotfl2:

Glad you're feeling better Mary.

Stacey - The smell is finally subsiding but they are coming back to put the 3rd coat on today. Oh joy.... I slept good too...maybe it was the fumes.

Gotta go now. It would be a good idea for me to shower before all these guys come back. Don't ya think?

Have a great day everyone....it's a hot one here in NY today. Supposed to get around 90 degrees. I thought summer was over???!!!! Bring on Fall for cryin' out loud.

TTFN,
Maria
