And also trying desperately to change the subject off of that debate...Over the next week please keep all the NASA employees and families in your thoughts and prayers, the shuttle launch date and return to flight is fast approaching next week and so is Dennis...

Monica - very good point indeed.

Mark and I had just landed in Orlando in Feb. of '03 (for the last DVC Member Cruise) when we heard about the shuttle breaking apart. It was a very sad drive over to the port and the next day when we boarded the Wonder (where you can see Kennedy in the distance). Here are to many more successful flights as our brave young men and woman exlpore new frontiers.

Dennis shouldn't impact the launch, should it? If it stays on the projected track, that is.

Now I have an image of coneheads in my mind. Where did that come from?

DH came home early today to cut the grass before the rain hits AGAIN! We were gone last weekend. He tried to cut it Tues. night but it started raining. Today is the first day that it's dry. Hopefully he'll finish at a decent hour so we can go out for family date night. This is when having an acre yard sucks!

The shuttle is at the launch pad, they decided today that given Dennis' projected path not to move it off the pad - that's good news! Now, just hope the weather allows the liftoff within this launch window. The next window isn't until September. Don't ask me how they figure it - I'm just going by what friends who work for NASA tell me...

If anyone is interested in the preparations/crew etc...here's the website

Mary- where did that cruise go? My sister and I cruised out of Miami that weekend, ended up talking to some DVC'ers in Cozumel, who couldn't rave enough about DCL... that conversation has stuck in my head for the past 2 years, making me want to cruise DCL even more!!!! Wonder who it was? (pun intended).

I just remember our tiny cruise ship (Norwegian Majesty... one of the smallest there is) docked next to the DCL ship... I wanted to cry.

Karen - nope it wasn't us. That was a short cruise. We did Castaway Cay, Nassau, then Castaway Cay again! Great cruise!

To add to the debate.....

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic. Simply pour a cup of
boiling water down your throat and presto. The blockage will be almost
instantly removed.

2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting
someone else to hold them while you chop away

3. Avoid arguments with the little woman about lifting the toilet seat
by simply using the sink

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed
for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember
to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock will
prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you
will be afraid to cough.

7. Have a bad toothache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will
forget about the toothache.

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and
should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Remember:

Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.

And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when you might need them to empty your bedpan.

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Still more home remedies to debate...

Here are some other uses for Coca Cola (and we drink this stuff!).

Clean a Toilet Bowl
Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl. Let the real thing sit for one hour, then brush and flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china
Remove Grease from Clothes
Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy work clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular wash cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains
Remove Rust Spots from Chrome Car Bumpers
Rubbing the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola will help remove rust spots
Loosen a Rusted Bolt
Applying a cloth soaked in a carbonated soda to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
Clean Corrosion from Car Battery Terminals
Pour a can of carbonated Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion
Bake a Moist Ham
Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
Relieve Jelly Fish Stings
Coke can also be used to relieve the sting from Jelly Fish. All you have to do is pour the Coke over the sting.
Clean Tile Grout
Pour a can of Coca Cola on the tile. When wiped it up, the grout will be as white as can be!
Have Greener Grass
Spray Coca-Cola on your grass once a month for super green grass which remains greener than other lawns throughout the fall and winter months. Also, for green grass and no bugs, combine: 1 can of coke, 1 cup of ammonia and 1/4 cup of dish soap. Spray on grass once a month.
Common Cold Remedy
Take some fresh ginger and put it in a pot with a can of Coca Cola. Let it come to a boil and then cook on a low heat for a few minutes. Drink while warm. It will ease your cold symptoms!
Make a Tender Pot Roast
When preparing a pot roast, use Coke instead of water. It tenderizes and imparts a unique flavor.
Get Rid of Bug and Road Film
Got bug guts and road haze on you car windshield? Take a can of warm Coca Cola, shake and spray onto the windshield. Wipe it off and rinse and water, clean as could be!
Used as Marinade
Remove Blood

The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It's pa is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.

The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years.

Not sure what is fact or fiction - but, won't sway my taste buds!!!

o.k. - think I hit my quota for today plus some extra- gotta get ready for rehearsal...have a great evening everyone...

Unless of course, you weren't talking COLA......

Just having a little fun.....LISA was out and about today and now I am trying to "lighten up".....

There have been a couple of times that we've cruised and there was supposed to be a launch, but they got rescheduled both times...:(

Too bad, would have been fun to watch. Jared would have really gotten a kick out of it!

Just like I get a kick out of T.O.P.s!!!!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Wanna take this over to the "Debate" thread, mister? Oh, sorry....DOCTOR!

Frances and I have a "mixed" marriage - she drinks Pepsi..... and I drink Coke...We even had to bring Pepsi on our cruises for her...

Okay, serious business....and I'm going to preface this, because I don't want anyone to laugh at me.
Jay is a blacksmith and a welder. Jeans and t-shirts....
Also, in Cave Creek, no one dresses up for anything. Not for a funeral, not for a wedding....
So: I was reading about Royal Caribbean...and the Explorer, and I've read that not very many men wear tuxes for formal night.
I just recently bought Jay his first (yes....1st) sport coat. He wears long sleeve shirts with a tie, and his tux.....but what does a guy wear with a sport coat?
Long sleeve, short sleeve, tie....???

Hey....I asked you NOT to laugh!

Jay & I had a mixed marriage with our choice of milk. He drank skim, I drank 2%.
I thought the fair thing would be to compromise and drink 1%.
We all drink skim now. :confused3

just one more - couldn't resist the pull of the computer...

we've always been a 2 gallon family - 2% for me and skim for Jthe rest...the kids even call it "mom's gallon" - Just this past year - I've managed to drop to 1% (my mom about fell over in shock when she opened my refrigerator) - skim still tastes like water...

As for Coke or Pepsi - we're single minded in our family!!!
