5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 3

I am sitting here looking at a bottle of 20 year old Tawny Porto bottled in 2003 by Sandeman. I got this one in Costa Rica. I'm about ready to open it to make sure it is good so I can decide if I need to pick up another bottle next week.

I like tawny port and Sandeman is just fine with me. I also like Cockburn. Bin 27 is good too. Basically, I never had a tawny port that I did not like.

Thanks, what was the one you brought to the Courtyard Villas?

OUCH I just took a major tumble!! I got tangled up in some clothes that my son left on the floor, and took a very HARD dive...landed a crashing blow on my left knee and now I have a knot in the spot along with some throbbing.....

What a bummer! I guess since you are typing you're OK??

A question about Paella. I have heard that it's supposed to be somewhat dry, but I like to make it with Arboria rice for a creamy consistency. Is that wrong? Actually, I don't care if it's wrong, it's yummy that way.

Hope you are ok! I fell down the 'grand staircase' at the library yesterday... managed to catch myself, spraining my wrist in the process, jamming my knee, and twisting my ankle. Not bad, considering that if I wouldn't have caught myself, I would have gone **** over teakettle all the way into the lobby full of people. I am sooooo glad that no one happened to be looking up the stairs at the moment.

Thanks you all..it is still very tender but no bruising that I can see...yet. I am sure tomorrow I will wake up and it will look horrible. I think we are going to my brother's in Destin 2mrrw and sepnd the day vegging on the beach.....that is if I can get my disgusting house cleaned up. I wish I had a cleaning lady........

Paella isn't on the menu that I saw for bluezoo, however, I'm sure it changes pretty often. I have his recipe for it, though....

Wait... I lied... just looked on his website, and he's now got swordfish paella on the menu there! Yum!!!

I forget to tell you all that I am getting a new co worker on the 11th..my old buddy Bill has been gonce since May 6th...I do not want any help but I understand why the company feels there needs to be 2 of us...for vacations and such BUT when I booked this cruise I had no idea Bill was leaving me...he and I always worked together on our vacation time and I knew it would be no problem to get the week of ourcruise off plus the week before........WELL the new lady has more seniority than me and we don't pick our 06 vacations until Nov/Dec......I think you see where this is headed....I am at her mercy and if she decides to take the week of our cruise...well I will not be able to go :-( I am very sad about this right now. I hate to out and out ask her when she starts, because what if she takes it out of spite? ( I know nothing about her, but you know some people are like that)

If she's even remotely civil, I would just explain to her that you have a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit on this trip, and that you would appreciate it if she would please be considerate of your previous plans... and if she says no, make her life miserable every day....Sing loudly and off key at your desk, snap your gum, take ALL calls on speakerphone, eat sandwiches with lots of onions, throwing the wrappers in HER trash, burn patchoulli incense, leave the copier out of paper, leave the ladies room out of TP... you get the picture... it will be a long time til May for her!!!

I've been waiting for a special occasion to open this 20 year old port and decided that Summer is reason enough. Summer is a special treat and so is this port.

A top with just me and 20 year old port. Now I won't have to share!

With all this talk about Ports! I just went and bought some Cockburn's! Sipping as I type!

I just spent the last 35 minutes scouring the Jacuzzi jets in my tub and scouring them...surely there had got to be an easier to clean the nozzles than this??? I'd be willing to pay, any one have a jacuzzi tub? Care to share any cleaning hints with me? We have been in this house for 8 years now, and I have never been able to deep clean them like I would like. This is the closest I get...
