And you had quite a few rainy afternoons to choose from!!!! We practically swam laps around that darn castle last Friday!!!!

I knew for sure you wouldn't want to trudge through MK (your favorite park) in the rain for some ice cream and a mini DIS-meet (even tho' ice cream was involved)... besides, if I took my cellphone out from under my beautiful blue poncho, it would have gotten waterlogged!!!!

I want to know who fabricated the rumor that the parks empty out when it rains!!! What a lie!!!
I'm always amazed at the "people" when we go to that park. The park itself is lovely and the rides and shows are very nice. But with the sheer "mass" of people doing stupid things, just amazes me. :confused3
We watched the parade, then moved up Mainstreet for the Wishes show and was amazed at the people! :badpc:

I did find a nice little spot that might be used for a secluded reading location next time though.....

Please share. I am always looking for a new place to hide from the crowds with a cookie and coffee.

We have never tried it. I'll have to take Matt here. If he is in the mood - it's history.
I bet Matt and Sean could take that thing in 10 minutes max!!

Thought that might get your attention. :rotfl2:

Looking at the Christmas Store at the front of Frontier Land there is a area behind there that is under trees and pretty secluded. No one was even there when I saw it. I immediately thought of our "conversation" before!!

Welcome home. I'm already looking forward to our next diving trip.
Had a blast!!

I need to clean up those pictures of the Goliath Grouper and post those. I still can't believe we saw four of that size on the same wreck! VERY COOL!! :earseek:

We definitely need to get another set of dives in before the cruise next year!

I know that place and like it. I have not been there for a while. Thanks for the reminder.

One good thing about seasonal passes, we won't be there for a while longer. We will let the tourist enjoy the parks in the summer heat! :rotfl:

Just tonight at dinner the possibility of a September liveaboard came up. I'm starting to check some dates and will let you know.

I'm also on scubaboard tonight. Reading about the Andrea Doria.

I'm trying to explain that to my kids, but they're just not getting it... I'd almost like them to SEE what a hot summer day at WDW is, just so that they'll appreciate our seasonal AP's...

They already want to plan on going the day the passes are no longer blacked out.

Knowing my luck, it probably is.....

Didn't stay around long enough for company, just thought it was a great little spot!

Ok I'll bite, what exactly is Texas sheet cake?

It's like a moist, cake like brownie with rich frosting.
It is SOOOOOO good.

The cake has 2 sticks of butter, a 1/2 cup of sour cream, 2 cups of sugar, 2 eggs and cocoa in it. The frosting is 1 stick of butter, a box of confectioner's sugar, cocoa and vanilla in it.

Can you say "RICH?"

It was one of those things that my mom would only make if we were going somewhere (baby shower, funeral, family reunion) I've figured out why....she didn't want a bunch of left overs sittting around the house!! :)

That is what we have wives for. They are very quick to tell us what we are doing wrong. ;)

Well if ya'd do something right now and then we wouldn't have to correct you all of the time! ;)

I think that's the "snake" spot. But you guys wouldn't let a few little snakes bother you, right?

Wow - that's a lot to catch up on! Greetings from Franklin, TN!

Congrats to Karen on post #7000

Congrats to Maria on reply #7000

Welcome home to Kevin & Diana!

Off to bed I go! :)

We did it one time in August at the MK. We left in 2 hours. It was unbearable. The heat, the people. Everything was hot and sticky.

Our rule is that Orlando is 5 degrees warmer than here, MK is 10 degrees warmer than Orlando.

You can not pay me to go in June - August unless it's late at night!

No, it's more, "if you would do it our way we would not have to correct you. Afterall, there is only one correct way, our way".

Now that should get the Saturday morning postings off to good start.

Tonight we pick up Mike and Joan (our neighbors) who are just returning from the Alaskan cruise on a Radisson.

We talked to them a couple of times. They described the food as "every mean is Victoria and Alberts. The presentations were wonderful. Portions were not large, but excellant".

We are having them over on Sunday for dinner.

It has been difficult figuring out what to fix for someone who has just spent a week eating V&A food so decided to just do apps and a salad. Lisa will make her stuffed shrimp and I'll do Cobb Salad.

Since it is their anniversary we will do some chocolate and Banfi.
