I found out that Barb was cruising with us via a post on the main cruise boards. Wavebands on the Wonder is going smoke-free - YEAH! Karen this is great news for us on the Member Cruise. Hope they do the same on the Magic before we cruise in May.

I would like to make a public announcement in case anyone is going to meet WVMD (Virgil)....

We had him over to the house about 1 yr ago. He showed my dh his iPod. Dh bought an iPod. Then, dd got an iPod for Christmas. Then dh wanted to upgrade his iPod, so he gave his iPod to my dad and then bought the next genertation iPod. Now I have a mini-iPod.

One visit with Virgil has netted our family FOUR iPods.

Be careful....be very careful! ;) ;)

Love ya, Virgil!!! :)

Hi Barb - Sorry about your July trip. Glad you are joining us, cruised with you on the western Magic Jan '03.

 Great news about the (non)smoking on Wonder.

Hey Sue - how's Scoopie doing?

Are you all packed for your Alaskan cruise?

Great site...I'll definitely be sending a photo!
That should be cruise #49 for us, unless we sneak in an extra cruise beforehand....then that would make it #50. I really want to spend the 50th on the Wonder because I consider it "my" ship, but Tony says it would be more appropriate on the Magic because a) it was our first DCL ship and b) it would be nice to have the 50th on a 7-day. But I think it's really c) he wants an excuse to slip in an extra cruise beforehand. ;)
Barb

Barb - You are my "hero" on number of cruises. I wish I could say we had gotten in as many as you have. Last year was our "best" year yet - Christmas Cruise 03, 3 day in March 04, 3 day in August 04, and 10 Day Christmas Cruise 04.

Well, today I learned that what I "thought" were the universal measurements for buying clothes (chest, waist, hips, height) are really American measurement standards. Lisa is going to have a Korean outfit brought over for her from Korea by one of her Korean Teachers' Mother-in-Law this month. She left a message a few days ago asking for Lisa's measurements. I took what I thought were the standard measurements and Lisa left a message back with them - they were useless to her. She called back and tried to let me know what measurements she wanted, but I could not understand at all. So, today when I took her to her Korean class, I took my tape measure with me and watched her teacher take the "correct" measurements - Back of neck to wrist, Back of neck to waist, directly under her arms, Back of neck to floor, size of her foot. When her outfit arrives, I will have her try it on and have Jim take a picture and post it for you all to see.

Also, at Korean Class today, they told me that the parents usually share bringing snacks. They try and bring traditional Korean food for the kids to keep them in touch with their Korean roots. (All of the children, except Lisa, have parents who can read, write, and speak Korean). The bi-monthly newsletter is in Korean and I obviously can't read it, so her teacher tells me what I need to know. Last time they just "skipped" Lisa's turn to bring in a snack. This time they wanted her to participate and they decided (as a break) that I could bring in pizza and capri suns (someone must have told them about my cooking skills - or lack there of). They obviously don't know what an excellent cook Jim is - or they would have asked us to bring in something other than pizza.

Welcome aboard, Barb!

hmm - how to condense 450+ pages --- not sure it can be done - but, Ill at least try to hit the highlights (since we joined in February)

scuba, banfi, pot stirrers, pirates, Friday kareoke, Scoopie, most recently "fluff queen" ...what else in a few words??? Can't think right now...

Scoopie's our mascot and is currently traveling around to (and with) all of the DIS'ers (see the link in my signature) - Can Scoopie come visit? I'm sure Scoopie would love to stay in the Barb and Tony Suite, if you do get #50...

If anyone could help get Scoopie his own Castaway Club card, Barb could!!!

Also here's my condensed review of "On the Record"

Mike fidgeted and Maggie slept...Save the $ buy the CD...

A bit more detail...

It was part of our season tix Broadway package...The musical arrangements were good, on their own...But, there was no staging beyond a recording studio premise or storyline .John mentioned "Disney Dreams" and "The Golden Mickeys" as good examples of a musical review with a decent storyline and good staging that captures the attention of even the youngest attenders...There were many young preschoolers - 2-3-4 whose parents left at intermission because it didn't hold their interest...We are slightly jaded having worked behind the local theatre scenes but, it seemed like an inexpensive Disney production thrown together for the ticket revenue and merchandising opportunities...Definitely not the caliber of Lion King...

The musical arrangements were really good (hence the CD recommendation) and the ensemble cast blended well together...They did a really neat arrangement of Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo, Supercali and one other that were blended all together in a tongue twister sort of way and then another was "Be our Guest" in several different languages.

Monica - thanks for the review! Having seen The Lion King I think we would be disappointed in On The Record. Your right, I've always thought Disney Dreams could hold its own on Broadway.

Sharon is accusing me a being "the Virgil of GPS". After seeing my/Sharon's GPS this past week Kevin is buying one.

Anyone tired of mapquest, hunting for stores or restaurants near your route? I have just the thing....:)

I think that is a pretty accurate description...scary, but accurate.

Welcome Barb and Tony.... WOW---DCL Royalty is sailing with us... :teeth:

I refuse to comment on the iPod situation - well - because it's true!

Hope that everybody has had a great weekend - worked 7-3 today - not overly busy - but busy enough - then went to the pool with Frances and Lauren for an hour - it was nice....

I can't remember - any Double Scoopers in Dallas? I head to Dallas tomorrow night for a meeting on Tues. and Weds. - back home and to work on Thursday.

WDW FL Resident Season Passes for 4 - $800

3 nights in a Mod on an AP rate - $360

4 Coleman Ponchos ... PRICELESS!!!

Well, we're back... I haven't caught up on posts yet... that will take days... (or tomorrow AM at work...)

I spoke to Tinksdad a few times on the phone, and had the wrong # programmed for Amanda... so we didn't get to DIS-meet with anyone... the rain, rain and more rain pretty much made planning ANYTHING impossible. Had a great dinner at Boma tonight though.. definitely want to stay at AKL soon!!!

More tomorrow... need to do laundry and SLEEP!!!!

Just great - Another reason John will fit in well with this group - do you bring your GPS with you on cruises, too?

Sorry, it would be fun - any chance for getting to Houston on a trip?

Welcome Barb. We have only sailed twice on DCL and we were on both of those cruises with you and Tony. We had a big group on the May 2002 cruise and you all were with us in our picture with the captain. So, this one will make 3 with you guys. What a small world!

Monica, thanks for letting us know about on the record. Glad it didn't come to EP, because then I would have wanted to go.

Well, it is now 10:30 here and I think I finally have all the packing done. Got all the bills paid and I think we are just about ready to go. Need to get my toenails done, may end up doing that in the car to Albuquerque. We have to drop our precious little doggy (bichon frise) off at Grandmas house on the way. I had a root canal done on Thursday and it has caused me major pain. I am on antibiotics and pain pills and it is not a whole lot better yet. Think I may run into the dentist at 8 in the morning and have them check it out.

Think I may stay up till 12:01 so I can get our boarding passes from Southwest.
Will try to check in tomorrow before we leave.
