We finally broke down and turned on our air conditioner on Friday. I LOVE this weather.

We've had our air on for a while now. It was very humid (& still is) here although I should use the term "very" loosely. The temps haven't been too bad. High today is 88 ... at least we're seeing the sun again! :sunny: My parents are here from south Louisiana. I asked my mom if she thought it was humid & she said "not really". Shows you what 8 years of living away from high humidity can do to a girl!

Hey all, we haven't gotten away yet and I am beginning to get worried. We are supposed to be taking hubby's blazer, and low and behold, the battery won't turn over this morning. He gets it started, while I make an emergency dental visit. I was in and out in 30 minutes and Here I am at home waiting for him. He took it in to get checked and found out he needs new battery and new serpentine belt. $160 for everything right before leaving for vacation. Of course, it would have been a lot easier to take my Rendevous, but then, that would have been too easy.

Wish us luck. We have 7 1/2 hours before our flight leaves and we have about 270 miles to drive to get there. I don't like taking any chances.

We had to last evening. KT had a scrapbooking crop here and it was just too humid. It got cool right about the time everyone was set to go home! :)

Hubby just called and looks like we are taking my vehicle after all. They don't have the serpentine belt in stock. The car was already loaded, so we need him to get back here and reload my car, stop for gas and then we are on our way to ABQ and then on to Orlando. Wish us luck:goodvibes

"Ride like the wind, Bullseye!!!"

Best wishes for a wonderful trip... once you manage to actually leave town!

Good luck!

The good part is you didn't figure out there was a problem when you were 1/2 way to the airport! Better at home than somewhere on the highway!

Have a great trip Pam. You had a rocky start but hope you have smooth sailing the rest of the way!

Banfi alert! Cruiser looking for Banfi help. i know someone here can help. Click here to get to the thread.

Mary, shouldn't you be working? :confused3

Ooops ... guess that means I should be working too!! Is it time to go home yet?

Mary, would you and Mark like a dozen fresh brown eggs to take home with you after our mini-meet on Sunday? OHKaren, we're looking at a trip to Columbus OH the first part of August. We'd be dropping off DS to spend a quality weekend with his big sister in Kentucky, meeting her in Cinci, then heading up to Columbus to visit DBIL. Are you anywhere along that route? We'd bring you fresh eggs, too...

My, but it's quiet on here this afternoon. I'll get in a little fluff before I head off to work. I'll never catch up with everyone else, though.

What? I'm not even up to 150 posts yet? DH is gone this week, so I won't feel guilty about being on the boards all week. Just have to take time out to feed DS once in a while this week.:sad2:

MMMMMMMMMM....yummy!

We are about 3 miles off of I-70 ---west of Columbus. So it depends on how you're getting from Cincy to Columbus. My guess is you're taking 71-N. If so, we're about 15 minutes from the I-71/SR-38 exit. Don't know if you're familiar with the area, but that's an exit or two north of the Jeffersonville outlet mall.

PM me when your trip is close and we'll see if we can't work something out.

That's awfully sweet of you to think of me!

If I am going to catch back up with Mary I better become a fluff queen like her....I don't think that came out right. :rotfl:

Just catching up on what I missed (???) this weekend...

Jim - are these your loyal subjects???

Hmm... do I see a second award category on the horizon????

Maybe Scoopie can come on a "preview cruise" with us before the big one!

Tony saw "On The Record" with my brother, nephew and niece (I was supposed to go but was sick). He said it was okay, but there were no production values...just people singing. We are used to shows like "Lion King," which we're seeing for the third time soon, and it was NOTHING like that.

Hi cruisers - Been driving Mary crazy  with my attempts to scan photos...Thanks Mary for all your hard work with the DoubleScoop Board. :flower:

Sounds like another day in the trials and tribulations of our travelers....Continued good luck with such mundane things as cars, luggage, tickets and, oh yes, weather!

Not much new here other than :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella:

although we saw the :sunny: for a few hours this morning. It ran away - sigh! Why do I live in Florida again?

Also saw a neat bulletin board this past weekend --

6 days of rain 34 to go! How long is a cubic?

I wonder how Scoopie is....I think he will take all the "preview cruises" he can.

Tomorrow....

Hi all,

Shameless post boosting - 449 just didn't look right...

Should really be fixing dinner and practicing my latin maybe even both at the same time...nun's chorus rehearsal tonight...

We could really use the rain - last night the news promos during the Tony's kept announcing "Could there be big storms on the horizon - details at 10" usually that means "yes" or they wouldn't bother with the promo...
