So I had to go and look up the 5/23/2009 cruise and the next thing I knew, I'd booked it!!! I called Dwight as I was entering the CC # for the deposit and "asked" him if it would be OK!!! (I think he said "yes"!) We booked a Cat 7. :yay:

Sandi, do you know what the difference was between DU's quote & the price through DCL? Just curious.

We'd love to sail with y'all again! You were such great tablemates.
Ang
Hey, Angie. That quote was with our 10% onboard re-booking. DCL puts that category at around $4400.

I either need counseling, or a higher dose of medication, or something. B/c I'm totally OUT OF MY MIND!!!

GREAT cookies!!!!! I have never been into making Christmas cookies... but I sure do love to eat them!!!! I just got the postcard in the mail saying that I need to make cookies for the Christmas play at church... ooh, yea... you might as well poke me in the eye with a sharp stick.

(Christopher is playing Herod's assistant...)

Thanks, Sandi! I already subscribed to it, but I'm going to lurk for a little while. :ssst: (want to make sure we don't have a change of heart and cancel in a couple days!)

Good morning everyone! Up a little earlier this morning as we are headed over to Ft. Wilderness to do the Segway tour there.

Yesterday we slept in just a little and then headed out to Spoodles for breakfast. After that we grabbed a bus to the Magic Kingdom. Crowds weren't too bad. We did the new Monsters Inc. laught factory (well new to us) :lmao: Very cute.

Then we did Buzz and the WedWay People Mover. After that we headed over and did Pirates. Some shopping on Main Street followed that and then we decided it was time to leave the park. We took the express monorail over to T&T and then boarded the Epcot monorail. Once at Epcot we did a little more shopping and then grabbed a locker over by the International Gateway.

We were doing Candlelight Processional and since we had booked the first one (5 pm) it meant we were doing a lunch instead of dinner. Our lunch was at 2 pm in LeCellier. This is one of our favorites in Epcot and we weren't disappointed this time. Very nice meal. After lunch we went and saw the new version of O Canada! It had been a couple of years since we had seen the old movie and it was nice to see the update.

We then headed over to the Candlelight Processional and saw the line was already forming so we got in it and just people watched until seating time.

I really love this show. It truly gets me in the spirit of the season. I think Monique Coleman, the young lady from High School Musical who was the narrator did a very good job. She wasn't the best we've ever seen (that would have been when we saw David Hartman) but still very very nice.

After that we headed back to the room for a while, then walked back over to Epcot about 8:30 to see Illuminations up close. Wonderful as always. One of our absolute favorites! Last night was extra magic hours at Epcot but we opted to head on back as we did have the early wake up this morning. On the way back we ran into a few more DISers and had a nice conversation as we were walking back.

All in all another great day here at WDW.

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a great day!

Mary, I love the details in your report!!! Keep them coming!!! The last time I was at WDW for Christmas was back in the E-Ticket days...It's about time I go again!!!

OM, the penguin cookies are darling! I guess the adage is true, if you want something done ask a busy person! Pictures from the both shows, please. I can now say I am no longer the only parent on the planet who has not seen HSM or HSM 2. Cute, but give me Grease any day!!!

Maggie once again is off and running, John's . A make-up day for her lacrosse camp before Thanksgiving. She's leaving early to attend a dress rehearsal for her dance studio Christmas party tomorrow. Her tap class is performing to "Hot Chocolate" from "Polar Express." They will be dressed as marshmallows. I can't wait to see the costumes.

Mike's friend just showed up at the door, so he's off on his bike in the neighborhood.

My plans for today, include grocery shopping, cleaning and laundry...what fun!

whew! My head is spinning, the only thing I've accomplished on my original to-do list is the grocery shopping. Checked e-mail when I returned and got a note from our travel agent and the flurry of e-mails for two hours commenced. Add another hour to compile everything for my parents into one e-mail so they could make sense of everything without wading through the copies, and my brain hurts... :dance3:

And once again, no one is home at my house, my brother's house, or my parents house to happy dance with me....:sad1:

In a nutshell...

we have reservations on 7/18/09 cheapest of our 3 dates :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

- not including all the various booking bonuses and stateroom credits - booked in at a cat 12 price for the 4 of us... $5,124.32 compared to DCL's cat 12 rack rate of $5736. If I've only learned one thing from the DIS boards, It definitely pays to check elsewhere. I think I've again, justified the time I've spent on these boards...:lmao:

My brother and his family (3) also cat 12

we scored a secret verandah room for my parents!!! (They may not want it, but at least I nabbed it...)

8:30 dinner for now, we'll see what my parents say...

Interesting - DU came back only $100 under DCL for a cat.11

We now return to our regularly scheduled cleaning and laundry...:laundy:

Checking in once again from the Boardwalk with very tired feet. :)

Got an early start today as we were at the bus stop at 6:30 am. We had to catch the Magic Kingdom early bus and tell them we needed to go over to Ft. Wilderness for breakfast. We thought they were going to drop us at the front of Ft. Wilderness and we'd have to catch the internal bus but he actually took us to the bus stop right by Pioneer Hall which is also right where Trails End is. Needless to say we got there a little too early and it wasn't open yet so we went and walked around. We got to walk by all the ponies that were out in their pens and also found out where we needed to check in for the Segway Tour which is why we were at Ft. Wilderness in the first place. Soon it was time for breakfast. The buffet here is one of the most reasonable and also very very good.

Breakfast over we headed over to Mickey's Backyard BBQ which is where you start the Segway tour. If any of you have done the one at Epcot this one is a bit different as these Segways are designed for off roading so have bigger nubbier tires. They are also newer Segways than the ones we were on back in 2004 when we did the one in Epcot. We had 1/2 hour of instruction and then 1 1/2 hours of fun! We went all over Ft. Wilderness. Into one of the loops so we got to see the cabins and also got to see some of the wonderful decorations people do. Then along the water line where we had a stop for pictures. We then headed over to Circle D ranch and got to see some of the horses housed there. Back on our Segways we went down the exercise trail all the way over Wilderness Lodge and then headed back along a path by the water. This was a fantastic excursion and I highly recommend it.

After that we took the boat from Ft. Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge to check out the holiday decorations, then the boat to the Contemporary to do the same. Next stop was the Poly where we stopped to have lunch at Kona Cafe which is a favorite of ours. We then walked over to the Grand Floridian to see their decorations. On the way over we stopped and found my Mom's brick which is on the walkway by the Laua Cove. After the Grand Floridian we hopped the monorail over to Magic Kingdom then grabbed a bus to the Beach Club. We checked out their decorations, then walked to the Yacht Club and finally the boat back here to Boardwalk! My pedometer tells me we walked 5.21 miles today.

Now we are back in the room and going to chill. We might head over to MGM to see Osborne lights if we are up for it. If not we'll just enjoy a night in the room and watching Illuminations from the balcony.

Tomorrow we head down to Vero.

Thanks for the play by play, Mary. Almost as good as being there (who am I kidding). Glad you got to try Chefs de France, it's always on our list. And don't forget that the Haunted Mansion is "new" if you haven't seen the changes yet. You reminded me that Laura and I saw the new O Canada movie. While we were in the waiting area, most of the audience broke robustly into the Canadian anthem. There were some good voices in the group, it was quite an experience!

So who is giving a discount on DCL for 2009? I am out of touch, must go take a look at the Cruise board.

Just an update, Alicia got a dancing lead in the school musical. We kind of figured that would happen, there were only two female singing parts. If you have ever seen a stage production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, she is playing Gymnasia. Good part for her, sassy and dominating.

If you would like our agents contact info PM me or e-mail John, Can I say since she's not a sponsor, even though she does post.? Over the three cabins our family has a hold on - she saved us $1,300 total over the rack rate on DCL - not including the cabin credits... She was quite busy finding out answers to my questions and working different combinations on the three cabins on our behalf this morning, I was very impressed and pleased...

Part of me wants to say - Yes, please come with us!!! But, another part of me thinks if Virgil books our cruise, he and my father will be enough without adding Kevin to the mix... :lmao:

Wow... and I thought I was bad using my large-format plotter to help Elizabeth print her game board for her science project game!!!! :)

Looks like we'll be joining you & Sandi. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Are Mark & Mary booked on this one too? I've got some sweet talking to do though. This morning I went out to DCL's site & a SPH was available. It was before 8:00, DCL phone lines weren't open & I didn't want to lose the room, so I booked it! Now I'm hoping they'll let me transfer my '08 ressie to this one & keep my 10% discount & OBC. Keep your fingers crossed for me. If we're lucky enough to keep the discount & credit, then the cost won't be much more than our '06 cruise in a cat 8. Also need to keep my fingers crossed that school will be out by then!!!
