Wow... I feel like I haven't been here forever. Crazy weekend, followed by a 3 day meeting in Tampa. Just got back to the office, and am trying to catch up on all the important things I missed (like this...).

OM- I'm just listening to the football pediacast now... multitasking, as usual. I can't download it because my itunes is screwed up...

Stacey - hope you're starting to feel better!!! At least your cast LOOKS pretty!!!!

Sorry I've been kind of in and out. Hanging in there, counting the days until the fiberglass cast comes off and the walking cast goes on. MONDAY!!

Pain hasn't really been bad at all...but then, the pills are meant to take care of that. Mostly just itchy and tired of it all. Have had some trouble with swelling, so I've been sticking to the bedroom where it's cooler and I can elevate it easier.

Stacey, are you going to be able to put weight on your foot once you get the walking cast? Has time flown that quickly already? I thought it was going to be LONG time before you could put any weight on it.

Angie, you're right, I think the color choices were great! I can't believe how much the girls have grown. They're both darling!!

Jay and I were just discussing what it might be like when I first try to put weight on that foot and leg. I know that when they were putting the cast on, they told me that I'd go in and get this one off, they'd fit and adjust the walking one, and then I'd go in and "work with" the doctor for a bit. I have a feeling I'd better take a couple of pills before we get there.
So anyway, no, Jay doesn't think I'll quite be waltzing out of the doc's office like I'd been hoping...so he's still taking me up there and then back out, in the wheelchair. We're going to have to be darn certain that I can bear weight on it before I even can think of using that scooter.

Happy Friday everyone!

Asking for a little pixie dust for great weather for my parents. They left yesterday afternoon on a Carnival cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel. This is their first-ever cruise so I'm hoping they enjoy themselves. I should have taken control of their whole cruise though. They sounded interested in doing an excursion to the ruins but were too nervous to book it online. Now I'm afraid that they are probably out of luck. I told them that as soon as they got on board they needed to go find out if there were any more openings on the excursion. They would be too nervous to do anything not "sanctioned" by the cruise line.

I have to share my good news ... well not my good news but my best friend's. She & her boyfriend got engaged yesterday at WDW. They are on vacation with all of her family. Most of the family was having lunch at CRT. He proposed to her in front of her family just as they were taking pictures with Cinderella. She said that everyone, includng Cinderella, was in tears. I'm so excited for them. Neither one has been married before. Lisa & I have been friends since 5th grade ... so over 30 years!

WOW, just got caught up on all the reading. Things have been pretty busy lately and I haven't had time to keep up.

We are going to see the Christian Band Casting Crowns tonight. We are all excited. The promoter gave us free tickets. Needless to say, we have been working with him. We normally have our college commencement on the first Friday in December. Well, they were trying to get Michael W. Smith's Christmas concert in the same venue on the same night. We ended up moving our commencement up one night so they could use it on Friday night. What is even more exciting though, is that Smitty has agreed to be our commencement speaker on Thursday night. He is going to talk about service to the community. Kind of exciting.

We have ordered Dale's senior photos and spent way more than we should have. I will find out tomorrow when we will have them back. I will post when we have them.

Ashley has her first swim meet of the season in Las Cruces tomorrow and Sunday. the good thing now that she is 13 is that we swim in the afternoons, so no more early mornings for us. WOOHOO

Will post more tomorrow as to how the concert was.​

Maggie started lacrosse this week - She's the only 5th grader on the middle school team (5-8 grade) - they are all head and shoulders taller than she - but, she's determined.

Mike is at a jr. high retreat this weekend - John will be subjected to girlie movies - all Maggie's choice - A few Shirley Temple, An American in Paris, Gigi, Meet me in St. Louis... I have a feeling we will have a Lord of the Rings weekend in retaliation next week...

Cubs win Cubs win!!! Now just anxiously awaiting the outcome of the Brewers San Deigo game - fingers crossed & lucky jersey worn today - Magic number stands at 1!!!
