Have a wonderful week everyone. I'll check in when I can! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Have a great trip Stacey!

Thanks Mary.
I'm looking forward to doing "girl stuff" with Mom, being spoiled by Dad, and seeing my brothers, their spouses and all the nieces and nephews!!
Just not the colder weather! :cold:

When I grow up I want to life in an apartment. :sad2:

I could not agree more!!!!

Our A/C iced up over the weekend so I get to deal with that today.

On Tuesday 'm waiting for the screen guy to come and repair 5 of the large panels.

I wish I lived in an apartment so I could just call the manager. I don't want to be the manager.

A couple more shots from today's rodeo. We had some great weather....and tomorrow I go to Nebraska and will probably freeze. Oh well, it will be worth it to spend some time with my family.

Here's a picture for Jim.....I want to see you ride THIS horse!!

You can count me out anytime there are two guys on horses whose job it is to help you get off the beast!! And you have to jump onto one of their horses to do it!

At our last horse lesson mine decided to try some bucking for the first 20 minutes. Mine was nothing like this so I can't even understand how they stayed on.

And from one extreme to the other. An event for little kids called Mutton Bustin' where they try to ride a sheep for as long as the can.....

And the big boys and their big toys. There must be a better way to earn a living. The bull won, by the way!

The bulls and the horses receive scores too - it's pretty interesting to learn what they look for and how the score the ride...

Oh, not that I would ever get on an animal who has been bred to throw me off...but, top scores at the Houston rodeo received $1,000 nightly, top $ winner over each 3 night round received an extra $5000 with the grand winner at the finals receiving $50,000 - not bad for 8 seconds worth of work...lets see at $1000 - that's about $6,000/minute x 60 minutes in an hour...$360,000/hr not a bad hourly wage... :lmao: minus, medical costs, rehab, etc...etc.

There was one guy riding at Rodeo Houston with a steel plate in his head...:scared1:

See... if you lived in my house, that wouldn't be a problem... our A/C hasn't been on since late-October, and won't be turned on again for at least 3 more weeks... :)

Sorry to hear that no one gets hot enough to turn on the A/C at your house. :lmao:

we have you beat. Our A/C hasn't been on since about September and won't come on again for at least 3 months!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to stop by and ask for everybody's prayer and PD to the families who fell victim to the Virginia Tech shootings. Although, I do not have a personal connection to the school or the families affected at this present moment, but I have family members attending UVA which is not too far from there and it is indeed very tragic event for everyone affected.

If anyone is traveling in May & hasn't booked a flight yet, check out AirTran. They have a sale going on for travel through the end of May. I checked out ATL to MCO & it was as low as $39 each way. Of course, that was flying Wed. to Wed. A family of 4 could fly for less than $400!!! Too bad Emily is in school through the end of May.

When I lived that far north, we didn't even HAVE A/C!!!

And I'll just ignore Jim's comment...

Hi Everyone,

Theresa's post bears repeating.

Christopher, who will be 10 in 2 weeks, has his heart set on going to Virginia Tech for engineering... the first words out of his mouth when I got home last night were, "Mom... I hope you know I STILL plan on going to Virginia Tech." He has really paid close attention to the little bit that I've let him see on TV... it certainly makes for some challenging discussions with kids...

Prayers for everyone involved.

I don't think this was VT specific. It could have happened ANYWHERE. It could happen at VT again next week. Or it could happen at University of Michigan. There was an OSU guy on local TV last night and I was impressed with what he said...."Sure, something like that could happen at OSU." Just impressed me that he didn't poo-poo it and say "That sort of thing wouldn't happen at OSU."

I don't think this incident makes VT any less safe. B/c it literally could happen anywhere at anytime.

U TOP!

pdfg and anyone who needs it....

I will say, I am impressed with Christopher's forward thinking....
My 10 yr old didn't want to go to college until he found out there was "video game college" and now he's all for going! :)
