I'm thinking of giving Jared a graduation gift in 2012....a cruise on one of DCL's new ships! :rotfl: They're never too old!

2012 is a great year for graduations - Lisa will graduate from High School along with KT, Lauren, Elizabeth, and I am sure more from the families of our group. That's it, mass graduation party on a DCL Cruise.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Our health insurance company actually called just now. They reminded me that now that Megan is 25, she has to come off the family policy and get her own. See.....we even still pay for our married adult daughter's insurance!

No you don't have to. She is married and an adult. That is called tough love.

Matt is sitting here and just agreed that I would never pay for his insurance once he is 25. He is a big boy and can learn to take care of him self.

Sorry Stacey, I have to disagree with you on this one. :confused3

Amanda - start a new thread now....The ship will be fulll -- before it is even commissioned...

Just returned from cross the state....must grab dinner.

Jim - please read your pm ASAP.

Thanks Angie for posting the news release ..

Just did. PM right back at you.

My goodness, this thread came back to life! Took me a while to catch up.

And glad I did, I had not seen the new ship announcement. I guess they won't tell us the names for a while, that's what I'm curious about. And where they're going, too.

OK, I've got the opposite of the school nurse story. When I picked Alicia up at school yesterday, she told me she had an awful day. It started with ballet. The teacher is choreographing some wild routine where the dancers jump over the 4' high barres (OK, maybe only 42"). Somehow, Alicia's nose hit the barre with full force. She said that she was the third person to crash and burn while practicing this routine, the other two hit the floor and bruised their ribs. She heard a "crack", and it REALLY hurt, but she cried a bit and got back up to dance. No visit to the nurse, no ice, nothing. By the time I picked her up, it was swollen, and today it is very tender. You can see where she hit. I think she broke it, guess I will get her to a doctor, but I don't think they will do anything. She'll look like a boxer before too long. She's a dancer all right, add the back pains and wounded feet and my girl is falling apart before she even turns 16!

Stacey, you must have some good insurance. Alicia will be dropped from ours when she turns 22, or sooner if she doesn't go to college.

Oh my gosh! That made my eyes water just reading it! :flower3:

My point was more about the school nurse thinking that maybe we didn't have insurance. I've not cared about paying for it, because the business pays it, and it's a write-off. Her work doesn't offer health insurance, and it's a whole lot cheaper to pay the premium than to pay her doctor bills, because trust me, I would. Yes, I have s.u.c.k.e.r. on my forehead. Or maybe just "Nice Mom" for once. :confused3

I've always gotten even with her by using her as a free dog and kid sitter.

Just goes to show that people can disagree and still get along. I understand you points....still don't agree, but that is just me.

Still love ya!! :flower3:

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes! My in-laws will be here within in the hour and we'll be on our way to the airport. Think some good thoughts as we have a 10 hour flight ahead of us.

We are taking the notebook but don't know how much time we'll have to check in but I'm sure we will at least once!

Aloha!

Aloha KOA!

Good Morning Mark - Safe travels...

Mark - from the Roman Marcus refers to Mars the god of war. In the ancient Hawaiian, KU was the god of war, but it is not appropriate for a mere mortal to bear his name. (sorry Mark) KOA is a warrior, bold and fearless.

The mornign u-top with Mark to match the one with Mary and Hawaii....

the day is looking up...

Poor Alicia -- pixiedust: hope she is better soon.

That's right. We all have different parenting styles and what may be right for one, is totally wrong for the other. What works for one type of kid, may be a total disaster for the other. A lot depends on how the parents were raised and what type of kid they are raising. I know that in my own family, there are some things I can expect of one, that are just not possible for the other to achieve right now. And we work around those differences. :)
