First nearly everything we had was wonderful and all places were brand new to us! This trip it was only DH and I for our 13th Anniversary.
5/23 Breakfast in room Poptarts and coffee.
Popcorn bucket at MGM for a late am snack @$5
Late lunch at the Brown Derby--WOW--we never tried this because the kids don't really have the patience for a long sit down lunch. They'd rather be playing and I don't blame them. We each had iced tea to drink, followed by DH's coconut shrimp appetizer and my Lobster Bisque. Both were very good, but the shrimp was very, very good! DH had the NY strip steak and potato I had the filet cobb salad. Both were again very good. DH's potatoes were excellent. We followed up with dessert DH had the dark chocolate torte and I had the grapefruit cake. That cake is something else--I have to dig out the old disney mag with the recipe. We used connections vouchers and saved about $20.Service was excellent and I left additional tip. A+
At PI we got hungry about 12:30 and shared a philly cheese steak and fries. It was good, but I was a littel "toasted" so maybe it really wasn't that good!B
5/24 Coffee in room
Breakfast at the Main Street Bakery at MK 1 cinnamon bun, 1chocolate croissant, and two coffee's a bit under $10.00 B+
Lunch at PepperMarket We shared the Bourbon Chicken (there was really too much for the two of us to share) and soba noodles, and a slice of German chocolate cake. Everything was wonderful. We used a connections voucher and saved about $6.00. B+
Dinner at California Grill. We started with cocktails at the bar DH had a glass of house Chardonney I had a Cosmopolitan total about $18.00 with tip. For dinnner we started with a grilled 3 cheese flatbread which we shared. Because we were still a little full from lunch we skipped the other appetizers and ordered our entrees. DH had some kind of grilled fish over risotto and some really green sauce--disers you'd have been able to spot that green a mile away LOL. I must admit it tasted better than it looked
. I had the pork tenderloin with cheesy mushroom polenta. It was incredible. We shared a dessert of the warm Banana Bread pudding--I wanted to ordr the trio of creme brule, but the waitress never returned until she had the banana bread pudding. We each had an additional glass of wine with dinner and coffee with dessert. The atmosphere was beautiful we were seated near the window overlooking the castle. They didn't do anything special for our Anniversary, but I go with no expectations and if I am surprised so be it. The food was EXCELLENT and the service was less than perfect. SHe seemed pre -occupied withthe table next to us--the girl there worked with her before and the table behind us regular customers there for their 25th anniversary. Food A+ Service B-. Total about $130.00 excluding the before dinner cocktails.
At about midnight we enjoyed a piece of carrot cake and iced tea from the Main Street Bakery at MK again just under $10.
5/25 Breakfast at Kona. We both had Tonga Toast with Bacon, orange juice and coffee--wow coffee that tastes good! Breakfast was fast, hot and very good. Total about $30 with tip. A+food, A+ service
We grabbed a late lunch at the Pepper Market before heading to the airport. We shared a caesar salad, pasta with grilled chicken and creme brulee. We used a connections voucher and saved about $10.00. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was bland and tasteless as well as cold, the chicken was over cooked and very oily. Salad and dessert were good. Service at the pasta station was awful. If that had been my first experience with this place we would not have gone back. Food C-, service everywhere but the pasta station A, Pasta station service F.
I guess that covers it all. Any questions? I'll do my best to answer!
