One thing your son could share is that this isn't just any launch. This is the Return to Space Mission for the Space Shuttle. It's the very first launch of a space shuttle since the Columbia tragedy over 2 years ago. If we do get to see the launch, I want to videotape my kids talking while we watch it...that would be something they could bring to school to demonstrate just how loud the launch actually is (I've heard it's amazing).

Wow, wouldn't that be awsome!!!! I live near Tampa Florida, and I remember as a child going out during the day or night (at home or at school) and you could actually see it going up (the smoke/relfection of the sun) and I even remember my DS and I going out at to watch the Colubmia go out. But we have never actually been so close! Lets keep our fingers crossed that we get to witness this one!!!

My ds will be missing his last 3 days of school, so we aren't really focusing on any school type projets. But what I have seen mentioned here so far is great!! I plan on having him do a journal (i'll print it out off the computer like I did for his WDW bday trip 2 years ago). I also plan on going to the bank on the Bahamas and exchanging some of his money for their money. (I did this with a friend the one time we were at the Bahama's...so we could bring it back to the kids and let them take it to school. They all thought that was pretty neat.) The bank was not a very far walk, actually between some of the shops on the main road.

Our DS(8) will be missing a week of school, so I feel like I should do something for him to take back. Plus, this is actually his first year in public school, as he was homeschooled prior to this year. So, I'm not sure how this will effect him in his schooling. I do not want anything that will take away from him enjoying the cruise, I would just like for him to have something to take back to school with him to share with all those unlucky kids who have never been on a Disney Cruise! (maybe they will go back & tell their parents how much fun their classmate had, & they will get to go sometime )

I would love for you to add us to your dis meet info. It would be nice to see some familiar people on the cruise. If I get a chance, I will send you a pic of our family.

I just emailed my TA to pay off my cruise!!!! I'll be dancing even more when i hear back that everything is final!!!

I'm working on updating the 5/15/05 cruise list now.

Is anyone interested in doing a Dis meet?? I know things will be crazy and busy..and its our first cruise so we'll be all over the place trying to soak up all the Disney Magic!!. But if anyone wants to meet up just to say "hi" and maybe take a group picture we could try to do that!

Ok, I FINALLY called and made PS's for our Disney Trip a couple of days BEFORE the cruise!! I dont know WHY I was putting it off.

5/13 - Check into CBR, dinner at O'hanas at 6:30pm (hoping to see Wishes
from the Poly, or from the MK.)
5/14 - MK in the am, Chef Mickeys for breakfast(brunch), and back to the MK
and/or Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival and to see the new
ride Soarin'.
5/15 - Check out of Disney Resort and Check into the DISNEY
WONDER!!

Hi All!!!

I can't believe it's just over 2 months away before we set sail My children are starting to harasss my husband & I about not going. I'm feeling a little guilty. However I am really looking forward to spending alone time with DH. I am SOOOOOO looking forward to Palo..... I just got a postcard in the mail from DCL with the recipe for Palo's Chocolate Soufflé. I may try to make it, I can't imagine that it would be nearly as good as the real thing. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try....

I just finally made our PS's for WDW before the cruise, too!! Well...except for the Cinderella Royal Table breakfast...for that I got up at 3:45am (California time), 90 days in advance, to get that reservation. I hope it lives up to the hype!

We'll be checking in at CBR on the 11th!! I've got PS's for the Rainforest Cafe at AK on the 11th, CRT at MK on the 12th, Sci Fi at MGM on the 13th and Cape May Character Breakfast on the 14th (I just thought seeing the characters in their bathing suits/tropical wear would be so cute right before our cruise)!

I think after 4 days at WDW we'll be ready for some cruising!!!

Lots of firsts for us on this trip...first time to WDW, first time cruising...first time to the Atlantic Ocean for the kids and I, born and raised in CA.

If only these days would just go a little faster!!!! I can hardly wait!!

cmcsharon, Cape May is a great Idea. We've been there for dinner, but not the Character Breakfast. I heard it is really good!!!! Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time at WDW!! I can't believe it will be your first time at Disney, too!!! How awsome!! Just don't stress about not being able to do everything at WDW!! I used to do that, now I don't. I've heard CRT is great, I've never done that!

Lisa, I know how you feel! I cruised one time without my ds(it wasn't Disney, but still!) I have gone to WDW a few times w/out him (even if it was just for the day) and he didn't think that was fair! LOL

We've only got 66 days until we CRUISE!!!

We will also be on the May 15th Wonder. WE are so excited. Family of four:
Me, DH, DS5, and DD5. Our twins are so excited !!! We are on Deck 5 with a SPR !!!

Can you believe how close it's getting? People on the cruise line board have been getting their doc's for mid April cruises already! pretty soon it will be our turn
We almost decided not to go as our beautiful 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes on Feb. 23rd and we weren't sure how we would manage. After gaining some confidence in our abilities to take care of her and her endocrinolgists insistance that we go, we are back on track to have an awesome vacation
I'm sure as our date gets closer we will be gaining some cruise mates on this board

suzanne, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter! I am so glad to hear that you will all still be able to go on the cruise!! Sounds like you have a great DR!

I can't belive how quickly the time is flying by!! 65 Days until we cruise!!! I can't believe how soon some people are getting their docs! My TA told me he would get them 2 weeks before and then forward them on to me. I hope its sooner than that! LOL

We still have TONS of shopping to do...my Disney order was shipped yesterday...so it should be here hopefully by monday or tuesday!

We booked in September '04. I was so surprised when the SPR came up as being available!! Now I'm wondering who's going to be in the connecting room. I wish we could've gotten the SPR that wasn't a connecting room...but those were probably booked really early (and here I thought Sept. was early)!!

I was so close to choosing POFQ as our hotel before the cruise...ended up going with CBR because I thought it would be like being in the Bahamas!! My DD8, wasn't so happy with me though once she saw that serpent tongue slide at POFQ...she thought that looked pretty fun!!

Maybe we'll see you around the parks before the cruise (and not even know it)!!

I just noticed you are from California. So, your a Disneyland veteran LUCKY YOU !! I love Disneyland, we usually try to go every couple of years. What do the DisneyCrazed west coast folks think about the big 50th coming up? Do most plan to go for the celebration on 05/05/05? I had originally planned to be at WDW on that day, but thought it may be a bit too hectic, so I re-scheduled for the next week. I had already booked our cruise for the week before, but when I changed my reservation that's when I found out the SPR was available ! I wonder who our connecting neighbor be also ! Hopefully, a nice quiet family like us ! ha ha ............

LuvindisCruiser - I see you're in Albuq, NM! I have very good friends that just moved there (transferred to the AFB there)...and, my husband's brother and family are in Los Alamos. One of these days we'll be visiting NM!

We live kind of near Sacramento (Northern CA) so it's about a 9 hour drive to Disneyland for us...(so, we fly! $39 each way on Southwest...love it!!). Anyway...I haven't heard of a lot of people from around here heading to the 50th...but, my sister-in-law lives in Huntington Beach, not far from L.A., and EVERYONE around there is going!!

I don't know what to expect about WDW, being a Disneyland veteran!! I've been trying to prepare the kids...things like the monorail not letting you off inside the park at Tomorrowland...not walking through Downtown Disney on the way back to the hotel, hearing that some of the rides are different (PotC, Peter Pan) little things like that. My DS keeps questioning how we're going to eat in the castle? ('Cause there's no room for a restaurant in Sleeping Beauty's castle!!)

It's going to be a fun adventure!!!

I'm hoping for that nice quiet family to be our neighbors in the connecting stateroom, too!

Is anyone going to be dressing up for the pirate theme? We've got some pirate t-shirts we'll be wearing...not full costumes, just something fun!

I read that too!!! That will be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we'll get eye patches, and wear pirate themed shirt (my mom has an emboirdering machine...she may make us one). They hand out free bandanas to wear too!
