LInk to Boarding the Ship (previous page)
The Cast:
Me and DH - Reine and Paul, 50 somethings
Mom and Aunt, 80 somethings, aka "the ladies"
DD the CM, Robyn, 24, meeting at the port
DH was up early and up on Deck 9 for a smoke and coffee. The rest of us slept in since we only had 3 hours of sleep on Friday night. Bed was comfortable and with the ship rocking, I slept like a baby.
Talked to the ladies around 10:00 and then took our time getting ready for Palo's brunch at 11:30.
Palo's brunch...how do you describe fantastic? The ladies were really impressed with the presentations: celery tower and watermelon carvings, etc. Food was fantastic. Robyn's crewmate Molly was able to join us for Palo's since we were her guests for the week. A little schedule juggling and trading times off with others but was fun to meet her and get to know one of Robyn's friends. Crew don't get to go to Palo or restaurants unless they have family on board or other special situations so neither Robyn or Molly had been before. The view was as good as the food and Marc out server was very attentive. The mushroom pizza is delicious..and the pastries...and the fruit...and the deserts..and..and..get the picture.
Finished brunch about 1:00 and wandered around the ship some. Went to Shutters to check on embarcation photos and of course purchased some to take home. Then back to rooms for a nap. I did say this was vacation...right? So nice to get back the the room and find it all picked up and the bed made. Efren, our stateroom host really did an outstanding job all week.
Actually DH started his nap first. I had to make alterations to a glittery top I had made for DD. Since she was on the ship, I couldn't fit it to her and when she tried it on it needed some adjustments. Finally got it right and then crashed myself.
Got all duded up to go to formal night and the Golden Mickeys. Actually spent so much time with my curling iron that we were almost late. That's what happens when you try to make totally straight hair bend!
Golden Mickeys were fantastic. I was really impressed by the ability of the cast to move about with the movement of the ship. This isn't your ordinary stable stage. Great presentation and talent. Really enjoyed the show. Then went to get formal pictures made. The lines were fairly long for most of the backgrounds so decided on the "plain" background. By the time the pictures were done it was time for dinner. 8:30 seating gets kind of late sometimes.
Parrot Cay tonight. More good food and wonderful service. I could get used to this really easily. Review the menu, decide what you want and voila...it appears. And NO dishes to clean up. Only problem is there's too much of it. By the time we had appetizer and salad, there wasn't room for all the entree...then where to put desert. Tonight I took some cheesecake back to the room. I'm a sucker for cheesecake.
After dinner, went back to room and let DH go have a smoke then he wanted to relax with a book. Towel animals!! What fun.
DD and I changed clothes and went for a walk around Deck 4...three times so we covered a mile. She had to slow her pace a little. I'm not as fast as I used to be. Need to spend more time at Curves when I get home.
After our walk, took another soak in the hot tub. What a relaxing way to end the day. Then back to the room to shower and get to bed. Magic rock me to sleep ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.....
