We have four children (ages 7, 5, 3 and 2 at time of proposed trip) and were thinking about booking at the Boardwalk, Yacht Club or GF for a special treat this Christmas. Two rooms are out of the question. Disney says rooms accomodate 5 people, but I know that I have seen in some contexts a child under 2 in a crib doesn't count for this purpose. I have looked at the pictures and I think the room will be big enough for our family, but I was just wondering if anyone knew the official Disney "rule" on this topic?

We're leaving Sunday and staying at the Poly. We have one room with myself, my sister, her dd8, dd4, and my dd3 and dd2. 5 + 1 in crib. No problems booking it. Enjoy!

Yes those deluxes do sleep 5 plus 1 child under 3 in a crib. The first year we went ds was 2 and slept in a crib. There was plenty of room. HTH.

I also have 6 in our party (11,7,6,2). We booked 2-rooms at CSR for this Dec. We could have "sqeezed" into POR, however, we found that the "squeeze" gets annoying after a few days. We were originally looking at 2 rooms at POP, but then found out that Pop Warner Week was the same week we were going, so I upgraded to CSR. You may want to consider 2 rooms, it will be more of a vacation--for you.

You'll have no problem being comfortable in a room at teh GF or Polynesian with your family, they are very spacious. I'd probably choose the Grand only because not all PR rooms have a split bath...

Why don´t you try the CR? I think I have read that they have the biggest rooms, and also, at the time you are going, I think it will be easier park to get to after MK.

I wouldn't stay at the CR until they are done with the rehab. And even then, unless I was in the tower. The south wing is a LONG walk from the MK.

In all honesty I'd probably go with the Polynesian, which is very kid friendly.

I've stayed in all three resorts, and the difference in size between the rooms is negligible.

for a family that big with those ages i'd get a two bedroom at a DVC resort.

We had plenty of room in our CR North Wing room for a crib, plus the day bed was great, and they have a split bath. The walk from CR to MK took less than 10 minutes and CR was the first stop on the way back from MK.

I would think the GF room would have plenty of room for a crib, too. I've never been in the Epcot area rooms (except for Swan/Dolphin).

When my kids were that age, I preferred to stay in the cabins at the campground. It is an easy boat ride to the MK (I know, monorail would be easiest). However, on our "down days" or at night, I did not have to worry about keeping the kids quiet. Plus, there is plenty to do at the campground. We now have 5 kids, ages 10, 9, 8, 7 and 4 so we just went ahead and bought a camper. I can feed the kids in the camper so I don't have to give Disney all of my food money :teeth: . You could also look into renting a golf cart to navigate the campground. My kids love to ride around on the golf cart. I just spent 8 weeks this summer at Ft. Wilderness with the kids, and they loved every minute of it.

:) Yes, you can definitely do this. We stayed at BC 2 years ago with myself, dh, dd(10) dd(6), ds(9mnths) and my mom. We were fine. It was a little cramped with three adults but you should have no problem!

I'm going for the 3rd time with our party of 6 in October to the Poly. It will be me, DH, DD(6), DS(4 1/2), DD(2 3/4) and Dfriend who helps with the kids. The room has always been big enough for us. Next time I have to leave DH or Dfriend at home or book 2 rooms someplace. I'm heading to ASMo for a quick trip with same friend, her DH, her DS(15) and my DS on Sunday. I can't wait to see what I think of ASMo.
