5:00pm CP - Will it be dark?

I made reservations to attend the 5:00pm CP and then eat at France at 6:45pm on Thursday, December 8th.

Because we will be travelling with two small kids, we don't want to eat too late, and they don't offer reservations at France before the 6:45pm CP.

My DW then thought it might be better to eat early somewhere else, and then attend the 6:45pm CP when it was dark.

I called WDW-DINE to see what was available, and the CM said "you should be all set, it will be dark at 5:00pm".

I looked up sunset for that date and location, at it said that sunset was at 5:29.

Can I get the real story from all our Florida resident friends.

Will it be dark (not dark at all, a little dark, can't see your had in front of your face), between 5:00 and 5:40 pm?

Thanks.

Here is the link, for anyone who is interested.

I do not live in FL but in VA and I can tell you that at 5:00pm here it is getting dark.. by about 5:30-5:45 it is completley dark and feels like it is 9:00 at night. So I would guess that at 5:00 it will be dusk and be getting darker and darker every minute.

I'm not a Fl resident, but have been going to the CP every year since 1998. We eat early and do the 6:45 show becasue we think it is prettier when it is dark.

It won't be dark at 5 pm (unless it is a gray cloudy day to begin with). It will be nearly dark before it's over, though. Anyway, that has been our experience. As mentioned, we eat early (4:30) and see the 6:45 show. We try to get the first seating time after the restaurant opens for dinner. That way, we don't have to worry about them getting behind or getting seated late. If we eat a late breakfast and a small snack that day, we are ready for the early dinner. Also, there is plenty of time after the show to stake out a spot for IllumiNations - and the holiday IllumiNations is awesome!

Best wishes -
