I have reservations at BCV for the week of 4th of July. My question is. Is it worth fighting the crowds to experience the 4th of July at Disney or should I change my reservation to August when it won't be as crowded? It is just my assumption that it will be much more crowded 4th of July that the first week of August. Any body that has been through it I would love to hear your opinion,

Sam

Hi Sam,
We love going for the Fourth of July - have done it twice and would do it again. We like the last week of June into the first week of July and plan to make that our big yearly trip. It's a festive time to be there - if you want to avoid crowds just steer clear of MK on July 4th. We wanted to see fireworks but not deal with crowds so we made a ps for 1900 Park Fare and watched from outside. It was very relaxed and unharried. Next year we are going to try Ohana around fireworks time. I wouldn't change your reservations. I really do think it's a nice time to go...Just my 2 cents!

Does Disney do a special fireworks presentation for the 4th or is it the ones they allways do. IF they do a special one is it at MK or Epcot. I know Epcot does a couple of shows on New years eve.

Thanks

Sam

I would rather go 4th of July week more than any other time I have gone. We loved it last year. At OKW there was kind of a Party on the 4th, everyone was singing and dancing, it was a great time. We sat around the pool, met a bunch of people and all. As far as the crouds, we were expecing a lot worse. But all in all I think you have to be there its a good experience. It was great being at Pleasure Island for the fire works on the 4th hearing everyone singing Proud to be an American.

We were at MK for the 4th of July in 2000 and at Epcot on the 4th in 2002, and both parks were so crowded that we could hardly move.
Epcot was the worst, because it's just not big enough to spread out. I was surprised to see it so crowded, I mean it was amazingly crowded!
But even with all the people, it was exciting and felt very patriotic with all the red, white, and blue banners. Just hold on tight to your children when walking through the crowd!

The nice thing about the 4th of July for us is a quick walk from EPCOT to the resort rather than a crowded bus trip. We do the 4th every year at BWV. You wont regret it.

Swood,
We were at BCV this past 4th. We had a great week and would do it again without a second thought.

On the 4th We went to MGM in the morning when it opened and were able to ride RnR 3X in a row, once on a fast pass. We stayed in the park longer than we though we would cause it was so empty. I think most people were at MK and Epcot. We chilled by the pools in the afternoon and then drove (only time we drove all week) to the GF for dinner at Narcossies (sp). It was so perfect. We had dinner and after dinner we were allowed to watch the FW from the MK from the porch. If you don't eat there that night you can't watch - they even had securtiy. THe FW are set off from behind the castle, which is pretty far away and at the same time the same fw are set off right in front of you. It was incredible! and they even pipe the music in. After the FW were left to head back to BCV, we didn't run, but we kept moving and were able to get back with plenty of time to watch Illuminations and the extra FW they do for the 4th. We stood outside of International Gateway and then walked back, It was a perfect day.
